| Ya I figured the post would go that way. I was just thinking of the looks of the machines and the markets they were targeting. Ironic. Maybe Polaris will someday use guality parts on there machines and last like a can am. Maybe can am will put a factory locker in the front like everyone else. Who knows. Still cheaper to put aftermarket locker in can am than to own a polaris. But I think everyone has beat this subject to death. Every manufacturer is so close to making a perfect machine. But that's what keeps them selling even if they are not of quality. | |

| Sorry Cory, I couldn't resist. But you did leave the door wide open for me. I would agree that Can-Am quality is superior to Polaris though. | |

| No biggie to me. Nothing you can say will bother me. I laugh at everything. I was saying to myself "what the" ?, when I seen the defender. Looked like a ranger in the front to me. Thought it was ironic. Now if they both would just put their heads together and build us east coasters a real woods machine I'd be happy. 15" ground clearance, 20" suspension travel, smooth, quite, torque motor with high/low sub trans. That's a winner to me. And put a bigger bed on it like commander/general. | |

| Way back in my ATV days I always rode Japanese quads in part because I was skeptical of Polaris' four wheel drive system. After having owned three different RZRs though I can say that I have been impressed with how well it really works. I'm not sure that an electric locker is either necessary or desirable. | |

| Gotta agree with Nathan. Nothing on the market is better than Polaris's 4WD system. And that's coming from a recorded, on the record, Polaris hater. It does have it's weaknesses but what doesn't? It does work better than all the rest. | |

| Yes good system when it works. The 3 I had must have been Monday builds. They sometimes wouldn't work in reverse, it would kick out of 4wd going down hills when you wanted 4 wheel engine braking, and sometimes it would even unlock. That's why i prefer the electric stuff like the yamaha/honda/suzuki/artic cat. You pick what you want, when you want it. Only downfall is don't pick it while wheels are spinning. By know means am I a hater, I've owed all brands minus aartic cat and kawasaki. I'm highly considering the new artic cat for my next 4 wheeler. Going to keep the 15,000 mile rincon and dump the 6000 mile grizzly with fresh motor. | |

| engine braking has always been crappy on Polaris, but the newer ones are pretty good, the general is said to have very good EBS. As to can am being built better that's just BS, I have a friend, we all know Badride, who was diehard canam guy and had the frames break in half on 3 of the big atvs utilities and on a renegade, and canam would not warranty a single one of them ,he then bought the sxs and it was crap too. | |

| True, but then you would have one less excuse to hang out in your shop, brushing up on your fiber glassing skills, building a custom console the way you want. And most important of all, besides barley pops time, is knowing you did it. | |

| Had a good look at the deluxe general yesterday. Very nice unit. The drivers seat Is a little higher than my 800. No zerks on the suspension. They must have put sealed bushings on it. Very nice cab. Lots of little storage areas. Seats are comfortable. There is a switch panel on the dash where the winch switch is mounted with punch outs. The doors are very nice and seemed solid. Bottom line is that it is a good cross between a sport and a pig feeder. Dealer said MSRP is 20k and that is the drive out price. I'm sure others have them cheaper. | |

| Boss is ready I'm not quite yet. Won't be long and we will have something different. The 800 is still in the shop. Found out the pinion nut backed out of the rear end and crunch. Still working with PoPo to see if they will cover. Sure hope so that will be a chunk of change. | |
