The best directions if you are coming through Grundy or Vansant area:

In Vansant,  traveling on Hwy. 460, turn on Hwy. 83 (Lovers Gap Rd.), going Southward.  You should pass a Tractor Supply at 1106 Lovers Gap Rd.

From the intersection of Hwy. 460 you will go appx. 4.1 miles on Hwy. 83 (Lovers Gap Rd.), get in the far right lane, in the truck/slow Ln. and turn right on Hwy. 718, which also might have an old sign saying Hwy. 744, or vise versa.  

Stay on that road then you will come to a 4 way stop and see Sykes Enterprises on your left.  Keep going straight then you will go through Poplar Gap Park with some ball fields and park stuff.  That same road turns into Southern Gap Rd. on some of the maps.  Look for Southern Gap Outdoors and their sign on your left.  That is the future Chipping Sparrow Rd.

SORRY, GIMPY IS OUT. Having surgery on the knee on October 8th to repair the torn meniscus. Site 18 is now open. The bad part is my vacation accumulation just topped out too, which means I loose about 3 hours of vacation a week till I go back to work, then take vacation off.

I truly hate to hear that Les, good luck with the surgery, and now you know you’r warranty is expired be more careful in the future!

Hey Bush, any idea what time you guys may hit the trail on Saturday? It may be doable, just a little too early to know for sure yet. The wife may be a hard sell, since she drives from Bristol to Grundy 4 days per week. I just wont tell her where we’re headed. And maybe you could bring my T-shirt?

They moved me to 18 due to someone staying long term extending their stay on the other site so this is my third move since making reservations . Just lucky they could move me. So I guess the place is booked full the weekend we'll be there from what she was telling me.

i think 18 was gimpys site. i should be in 17 same as last time. dont know what i will bring to the potluck. it may be just me this trip. lucas has school and church is having a hay ride and fall festival on sat so him and monica may not show.

Yes Scott, I cancelled site 18 a few weeks ago.  Glad it worked out for you, but sorry you have to be next to BUSH.  Just kiddin.    Surgery went well yesterday.  No pain yet. Looks like it's together enough to make the ride!!!

Looks like alot of bruising but otherwise looks good. I could have worse neighbor than Bush lol. Wish you could make the ride but get healed up take it easy. Sucks Lucas and Monica can't come but sounds like he'll have fun.

I was looking forward to this ride too. I have been off of the crutches and using a cane since yesterday. I got out yesterday and today to visit a friend who died of cancer.

Walking without the cane, so far, today.  Took our grandson out to Chic fil a to eat and play in the playground.  Stopped by my dealer and found some good looking machines too.

Loading up the Limo in the TH and headed out in the morning.
