| Does the fusion, really stick good, I got some red handguards for my 800 but want them black. I can swap them but It will be a few weeks till I can get back to Tn. If it will stick good i will just spray them. | |

It's 3M 1/4",from the local automotive paint store. You can use Pro-Stripe or anything from Auto-Zone ect., it's works fine too, it just dosn't bend as well in tighter corners as the 3M stuff. |

| yank, if you want a better look this might be the way to go, I coped it from highlifter; This is how sportsman70003 did his and it looks great.
1. clean the plastic with a good degreaser 2. da the plastic with 180 (you will have to hand sand around the places you can't get with a da) 3. wash the plastic with a red scuff pad (to sand places you might have missed in step 2) 4 da the plastic with 180 again 5. Clean the plastic 6. spray on an plastic adhesive promoter (I used the bulldog brand it also has a flex agent) 7. let the plastic adhesive promoter flash for about 10 minutes 8. spray on flexible primer 9. sand primer with 400 (re prime if necessary & re sand) 10. clean the plastic 11. spray on prime time sealer to seal the plastic 12. now your ready for paint & clear coat (make sure you use a flex agent)
The paint I used is ppg and clearcoat was omni brand. | |

| Did a little test piece today. the back side of the dash cover. Turned out well but not as dark a blue as the can lid showed. It is closer to Yamaha Blue. One thing about Krylon. Like Pate said it drys real quick. Also a much finer more controled spray than the Valspar. I believe I got the hang of it though for the fronts when I get to them. Another thing is overspray. Boy I'm glad i'm doing the backs first. Blue powder all over the fronts from spraying. I laid it down on cardboard to spray like Jimbo said. I definately can see the need for that with Valspar (I tested a can on the pole at Lowes) it runs easily, but the Krylon you have to try to make it run to get it on thick enough. I put 3 coats on the back and used over 1/2 can of paint. I think i will need 7 cans to do all of the pieces including the fender flares. Here is a couple pics for those wanting to see the color. | |
