Any luck on a support bearing Chris?? I was studying the front yesterday. Looks like it would be hard to get any kind of pillow-block bearing on it due to the fact it's bigger on the ends than the center.

No pate not as of now. seems the shaft is a metric size... Rolling Eyes
I will keep working on . dont know if i will work it out before
we go to winrock. another idea i had was to sleeve and weld the shaft.
in other words make it bigger except for the splines of course.
the problem is the shaft is to small for its length. and in turn shakes.
but if you make it stiffer. no more shake. i will work it out.... cheers

You know what Chirs. At one time Warn made a front-driveshaft disconnect for the old Honda Fourtraxs that were full-time 4wd. That would be the best IMO to completely disconnect it. Think of the added power-increase and drag decrease if it wasn't connected to the motor, although it would still turn, would'nt it?? Or would it if 4wd was not engaged??

Pate , the front drive shaft on a rhino does turn all the time.
it only ingauges 4wd buy the front diff. what yamaha should of done is made
it disingauge in the motor and not turn at all unless you needed it. Wink
than again if thay had put a midshaft bearing in to start. there
would be no problem in the first place.... Rolling Eyes
