Went to Road Atlanta tonight

Watched the LMP-1,LMP-2. GT-1, GT-2 practice tonight for the 1k Petit-LeMans on Saturday. I have lived 3-miles from this track for 6 years and never been. It is one of the most awesome spectacles I've ever been too. The mode of transportation around track for most is UTVs, golf-carts, scooters ect. I've got my Cart-pass for tomorrow and the Rhino's going. Sorry about my crappy pics. I found out how hard it is to snap a shot of a car doing 170.........

Nick, I know I'm going-on about it a little, but I've attended a lot of races in my life-This has tottally blown me away. The Audi and Peugeot diesels were crazy, you cant hardly hear them, they are so quiet, wierd.
The Vettes and Aston-Martin V-8 powered cars would shake your guts. Mike has always told me if you went once, you'll never miss another one, now I see why. It's a 4-day long party. We were riding around in his Mule tonight and came across one of the parking-lots and it had three airplanes parked in it,I was like WTF?? " Yeah they land on the front straightaway then retire in thier 1m dollar Prevosts."

Been going every year even before they started Petit in 1998; I even have the tickets and program framed from that first one! Love it! Been going to RA before I had my drivers license watching HSR, SCCA races. Rhino has been for 2 years now too! This is the first year I MAY not make it for the race. My 3 month old daughter has been on a few too many road trips for football lately and we are burnt out too! She'll get her first trip in to Road Atlanta next year for sure. My parents are down there right now in their RV parked in the chicane behind the concrete sitting area.

Took the wifes G6 GTP over there last year for YearOnes thing and had a blast. 102 down the backstretch, not bad for a 4 door. Hey Pate where do you live ? I live off Union Church, can't be to far from you.
