| How do the stock tires hold up on the Rhino? I have fell in love with the XTR's on my Grizzly 700 but when I purchase a Rhino a winch will probably be the first accessory. Just curious if the stock Maxxis tires are as bad as the stock Dunflops that came on my Grizzly. Kinda lets me know if I will have to spend even more money right away . Thanks | |

| Their not bad, but they do wear rather quick due to the soft compound. |

| Stock tires, better get a winch. you be stuck in the yard. Bighorns, you won't need a winch. You can drive out..lol.... I have not used my winch since putting the Bighorns on. Used it several times with stock tires. | |

| Most love their XTR's, and there are a lot of them out there. When I just bought my new Bighorns, the seller said that you get an idea of what tires hold up by folks ordering 1 at a time (cutting one down on a sidewall). He said he sold more single XTR's than any other tire. A lot of that is due to how many are out there I'm sure, but it is an indicator. I've cut a vampire on my Grizzly down on a sidewall in WV....a digging mud tire....not necessarily built for higher speed trails even though they ride decently.
Keep in mind what kind of riding you are going to be doing. If you are going to do mostly high speed trail riding, I think it will be hard to beat the Bighorns with the beefy sidewall tread.....I don't know from personal experience yet as I haven't ridden on mine yet, but I did a lot of research and they appear to be one of, if not the most durable trail tire out there that still pull reasonably well in the mud. If you are going to do more slow technical and mud riding, you may want to consider something with a little more cleat. Keep in mind the Rhino is not an overpowering machine so you may not want too heavy of a mud tire.
If I was going to be racing, I think I'd keep the TerraCrosses I've been running. They are light so they don't rob power and they hook up extremely well on the trails and I've never had an issue with them pulling through mud or water either. The only knock on them is the compound appears to be a little softer and and may wear more than Bighorns but that is probably why they hook up so well. Now I think they did come out with a new Terracross with a harder compound that is supposed to last longer.

| It will be slow technical riding and some mud kinda like what I do now with the Grizzly. I had XTR's and 589's in mind. I loved my 589's and IMO they look sweet on a Rhino. Who knows....maybe by the time I buy one a 800 V will be under the seats and Ill turn 27's like stockers! | |

| XTR's for sure. There are a couple of guys on this forum that were spinning there tires( Bighorns/Terracross) trying to get over some rocks at Windrock. I will not mention wvyankee2 and Wheelins name but this guys were have a hard time. ChrisC and Big-Rs XTR's didn't spin at all. | |

I don't think so. I have 1100 miles on mine and will probably get 1100 more. I had one sidewall gash that I super-glued that is still holding up fine. I ride in a lot of rocky areas.

| My XTR's on the Grizzly dont have any holes yet and I hear people complaining about the sidewalls but you cannot beat the tire for all around traction. I have a neighbor who owns a Kawasaki Teryx with XTR's. He rides basically all creek rocks and has not had a problem with holes or sidewalls, just faster than normal wear. Thanks for the repies guys. | |

| XTRs are super nice, just a little pricey for me. I want those or the Bighorns for my next set. | |

| itp type 7 with bighorns were my favorite - for fast trail riding - but they were HEAVY!!
I also had itp delta steel with carlisle all trails for 'round the house - perfect combo for light stuff....
as for mud - no clue. | |
