| I am a Good Chris.... I changed my oil today for the first time. manual says first change 200 miles. I got like 137. so i did it anyway before winrock. Yes i went and bought Yamaha oil and filter too... that shit was 28 bucks but i am still under warrenty. so i want there to be no question if there was a problem. says not to do the next one til like 600 miles. so i dont haft to worry about it... | I change all the fluids in mine every couple of rides, thats usually every 200 miles or so. | |

| I also change it after ever few big rides but at the Ranch there is alot of water thats the main reason | |

| 135 miles I did my first change. I don't plan on another till about 350-500 miles. Then I will switch to AMSOIL. | |

| Dont forget about valve adjustment! You should be ok with an 08 to let it go for a while but 07 and older they will need to be checked. | |

im no mechanic any more info clayboy? ps i use syn. amsoil in the motor have since change #2 gotta let them rings nad what not get seated | |

| Yea I changed all my fluids last week-end. I also use Yamaha stuff this time cause I went by the dealer and did not want to go anywhere else. It was pretty easy but I found that I need a few new tools. 21 MM socket and a new 8MM socket. The skid plate screws rounded out my 8mm on the back one. It was a cheap set that I have had for 20 years. I did not adjust the valves yet, it is still running strong and I'm lazy and though I would wait until next oil change.
The oil and gear grease that I drained out looked like the same stuff I put in. It was still real clean and not looking used at all. I was surprised at how clean it was. | |
