| What do you ladies & gents do for Thanksgiving? Me & Hubby usually go to my mom's house & eat with the rest of the immediate family. Then we come home & pass out from Turkey coma. | |

If you don't mind my asking....why do you have to stay at a hotel room? That would suck...maybe a nearby resturant will have Turkey as a special that day. :)

| I have had Turkey a couple times this month already.... I have noticed both times the Turkey hasn't been much. Butterball always use to be good, but it seems the quality isn't the same. Anyone else notice that? Anyone know any other brands that are good?
Wonders to self.....maybe I can get mom to switch to chicken instead of turkey this year.

| Well, on a normal Thanksgiving I would be deer hunting in WV in the morning, then on to my aunt's house for dinner. This year, I get to sit here in my room. At least I know the WVU/Pitt game will be on the next day so it gives me something to look forward to. | |

| My brother served in the Marines for 5 years, the Army for 2 years, National Guard for 1 year, but he had our state governor write a letter to release him early & has signed back up to go into the Army again. He has had a hard time finding a job in this area that pays what he was use to. I know it is rough being away from family & friends around this time of the year, because the family & I all miss my brother when he has to be away from us & serving over seas or living in another state. Thank you for what you do, & God bless you & your wife. | |

| Thank you. Yes, I am in the same dilemna now. I want to get out and get a job in the Guard, but I will have to land a full-time gig. Once you get used to that regular paycheck and all the benefits, it is hard to warm up to the idea of being a civilian with none of that. Being away seems to be the norm for me over the last five years. 2004 was basic and AIT, 2006 was OCS and OBC, 2008 is over here in Afghanistan. I will say this is the longest period I have been away. At least in 04 and 06 I would get some weekend visitations. Here it is like Groundhog Day. The end is near though, so I guess that is something to be thankful for. Also, my family is in good health and my wife and daughter are both anxiously awaiting my return. I do have many blessings that many others are not so fortunate to have. I just wish I could be home, that's all. | |
