| Gunny, I have not talked to the mechanic but the service mgr said the mechanic said there was dirt in the engine again and that's why it was using oil again.I was shocked that dust could get in the engine again after the DFR air box was installed by the same mechanic at the time of the first rebuild. What is fishy is the mechanic can't see where the dust is coming in from so I can't say the airbox is not doing it's job.I really like my RZR and I don't want any other SXS because I like the size and power of the RZR but what good is it if it stays in the shop. | |

| I'm sure your Rzr will be fine Bobby. Once you get it back go over the intake and make sure it is tight and everything is in place. The DFR should take care of the dust -- just verify that it is working. | |

| I would ask for the lip upgrade on the throtle body also, if its letting it in there doesn't matter what filter is used. Also I would suggest you follow this guys advise on the new re-build. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm | |

| I'd silicone all the boot-intake connections anywhere there is a clamp. If that was done, there should be no dirt getting in anywhere. Just my 1/2 cent. |

| Hey Bobby send me your vin# I can search the unit for any up dates and build date to see if maybe something still needs done. They had 4 up dates to the intake alone. We had 2 units from 09 with this same issue and found the up dates needed. Let me know if I can help. Thanks Tony | |

| Hey Bobby We ran the vin if the shop did the up grade proper it should be solved, but its not. Our guess is check the throttle body boot if it does not have ecordian style ridges it not a complete up date. Also the shop should know where the dust is getting in and stop that. The new filter should be greased at the seat point in the intake. Do you have another dealer you can take it to for a second look, we have had a few come in from other places. The biggest question will be MUD any visable sighs. How many air filters have you changed your self, and do you change the oil yourself if so does it look dirty milky or any grit. | |

I had the Dragon Fire Racing /BTI airbox with the Donaldson filter installed when the top end was rebuilt in August.I cleaned my filter after each ride by knocking the dust out of it.I never use my machine mudding just trail riding but some trails do have mud and water you have no choice but to go thru. With the DFR airbox it mounts where it will flex with the motor where the Factory airbox does not flex so there is no need for the updated boot with the DFR airbox.I changed the oil myself and it was never milky. Thanks for looking into it for me | |

| The fact that you had dirt in the air box shows your drawing in dirty air, you need to do the air intake mod with the prefilter and make sure your dog house cover is sealed good so the dirty air from around the rear wheels and motor is not what your intake is drawing, although the dfr states it has dual intakes so if it draws from under the back thats a problem. | |
