| This thread is funny. All SxS's got issues of some type. Pick your poison. I really like my Rhino. I really want a Rzr (I see it as my responsibility to keep the dust out since I'm gonna drag it through h3ll). I like the Teryx pricing in 08 ($7300!) but do not trust that squeling belt.
The key thing is to ride. Enjoy what you get and do what you can to take care of it. It's all good fun...

Id wait a little before getting all googoo eyed over the 09 teryx, it just came out a couple of weeks ago, who knows if they got all the bugs out. 08's have multiple problems. You might just see they have some problems too. But whats funny is everyone bashs the rzr and have no clue as to if their 09 has fixed its issues. Sure looks like a lot of you run a double standard. How do we have a double standard? I like the Teryx. I had an option to buy the 08 when it came out and I didn't. I didn't because I knew it would have first year problems. Moreover, I would wait before I bought an 09 to hear what owners say about their 09's. But over all the teryx has some odd issues that will be worked out. Now, I also could have bought a RZR. However, I heard that some engines had to be rebuilt. That ended any interest I had in the RZR. Between the Teryx and the RZR, Teryx had the better first year production. IMO

I'm going to have to disagree on being my responsibility to keep the dust out since it's a design flaw from Polaris.I have rode about 20,000 miles in the last 7 years and I have never had a dust issue with any other machine except for the RZR and I have owned many

| The Rzr has a dust issue. The Kawasaki Brute Force has an air filter issue with water (a small mud hole can fill the airbox with mud and water). The Can-am has a spar frame issue (requires skids or it dents really easy). The Honda Rubicon has a overheating issue due to tranny cooler too close to radiator. My previous Arctic Cat 650H1 had a water in the air intake issue (the air intake was behind the front bumper). I did what many others did and just snorkeled the air intake. Easy Nuff. The list of "enginerring" issues can go on and on. Buy what has the issues you can deal with and deal with it. I'm sure I could stop dust from entering the Rzr motor. I'd rather deal with that issue then the Kawasaki Squeling belt and hot tranny issue. I do somewhat agree with you BobbyD. I really do recommend you sell that Rzr to me for $3500... Yep -- Sell it to me and then you can buy something new and we can ride..... | |

| I did something that hundreds of others have done too by spending $500.00 for the DFR airbox to stop the dust and 2 months later it was burning oil so what else should I have to do.I will sell you the RZR for $3,500.00 if you sell me your Rhino for $1,500.00 | |

I'm slow. I had to think about the math and just could not get it to work in my favor. Guess that's what happens when you try to deal with an ex-car salesman.
Hope you get the Rzr back soon. I agree that you did what you could by putting the DFR racing intake on... I discussed it with a Rzr owner last weekend and he has had good results out of his DFR intake.
For what it's worth my Rhino burns 1/2 quart of oil for every 350 miles or so... As much as it runs full throttle that seems good.

| I had heard from several people that owned them that the 660 Grizzlys and Rhinos use oil. I've got 1300 miles on mine now and it has been 500 miles since my last oil change. I just checked it today and it has not used any. Full on the stick. I guess I have been lucky with all my ATV's. I've owned a 1996 Kawasaki Prairie, a 2004 Honda Foreman, a 2006 Suzuki Kingquad, and now a 2007 Rhino. Never a single issue with any of them at all. | |

| Every machine can have issues.
BUT ENGINE REBUILDS ARE MORE THEN AN ISSUE

| Anything will have issues for sure, but if I were on my second engine rebuild, I think I would be pissed. I would not like the idea of losing my machine to the shop for a couple of months for a rebuild, even if it did not ccst me anything. I want to ride when I want to ride. I truly hope you get the issue worked out so you are not sitting at home while all your friends are out on the trails. | |

BUT ENGINE REBUILDS ARE MORE THEN AN ISSUE You want to talk engine rebuilds, the v-twin kawsaaki motor used in the teryx has a history of needing them if they ingest the smallest amount of water. The 08 had low intakes, the 09 has them moved up but if you get one you better snorkel it. I still have not heard if bobbys latest oil issue was actully dirt related, was there dirt in the intake after the DFR was installed? If so then I blame the DFR unit for not doing its job and would demand a full refund plus them adding the new 09 upgraded parts. If not then how can you say its related to dirt, id say it is related to incompetent mechanics that did the work. Ive rebuilt many engines and they last cause i do it right not just patch them up.
