| I have the 26" Terra Cross tires and I usually run low air pressure for the florida sand but what pressures are yall running up there in the mountains? It makes a huge difference in the ground clearance if i run more air but is that going to make the tire more suseptable to puncture? | |

| Tera cross tires are know up here for pinching sidewalls at lower pressure, i would not run less than 12 in rocky areas. | |

| I have the 26'' terra cross on my RZR and the recommended air pressure is 8 psi,I have run this pressure in very rough rocky areas and so far no flats..
The above statement is in no way saying more or less pressure is any better than what I run, also I am not saying this tire is any better or worse than anyother tire, nor do I mean this to insult or dissagree with anyones response who says more or less pressure works better..

| My $.02 --
If you run normal rims run at least 8psi or risk popping a bead.
If you run beadlocks run 6psi since popping a bead is not an issue.
If you are buying new rims then get beadlocks. I hate that I wasted my $$$ on some SS112's before my beadlocks. I popped a bead in WV last year at 18F and hated it -- almost impossible to seat. I was running 7psi with 25" XTR's on the SS112's.
I have lot's of experience with tires. I've cut 6 sidewalls in the last year and had (2) tires pop the bead (both on the Rhino). Now I run exclusively BigHorn's and try to keep air pressure low for flex (6psi on Rhino, 3.5 psi on ATV). I ride 2500+ miles per year.

| I run 8 psi. I used to run 10 but friend of mine told me to try out 8 and see if I liked it. I do! Not tryin to say 8 is the best, you just have to run what works for you. | |

The above statement is in no way intended to offend anyone, hurt their feelings or anything else I can think of at this moment.. Tire pressure can vary greatly on different terrain and with different riding styles. I tend to ride fairly aggressively, and while I used to run 8 psi front and 10 psi rear I cut 2 rear sidewalls from square edging (mashing a tire flat against the rim from hitting a rock to hard ) the tire. I raised mine up to 10 front and 12 rear and have not had that problem since. If I took it easy on the trail I would run less for the comfort factor. Lower is softer. So, the right answer here varies for each driver. I do believe it's safe to say that the higher the pressure the less chance you have of tire damage. That is why Yamaha recommends 11 front and 14 rear on the stockers. UTV's are much heavier than ATVs and have more of a chace of mashing a tire flat on more occasions because of that.

| I rode 150 miles at Brimstone last year with 4 lbs in the same tires on the same rhino and had no issues, however i did notice on several occassions the tires would be completely pinched up against the rims. I will try 9lbs and see how it rides when we come up to the white knuckle event in May.
Thanks for the input!
This is in no way saying that my way is the best or your way sucks it is merely stating that i have gathered intel from this thread and i will put it into action.

| I said I run 8 psi,in the disclaimer I said this is what's been working for me,I did not say it was better than any other pressure or that you wouldn't have a pinched tire if you run this pressure,so far I haven't,but this dosen't mean it can not happen nor does it mean I wouldn't use more pressure if condition call for it..
Use what works for you,I do like to up the pressure when I'm on trails with lot's of slick leaves, this makes it easier for me to power slide through the turns..
Gunny said--Be sure you have a plug kit--I do along with an air-comp.and a can of starting fluid incase I or anyone else knocks a tire off the bead, this stuff pops the bead backs on and "FAST"..
My post are not meant to disagree with anyone, some one ask about air pressure I gave the factory recomended pressure sorry if that offended some ,I thought this was a place we could exchange ideas and help each other..
( starting fluid can be very dangerious to use if you have never used it before and do not know it's power)

( starting fluid can be very dangerious to use if you have never used it before and do not know it's power) Boliver, It is okay for you to disagree with someone else. We strongly encourage conversations between members. The important thing is you are speaking form your on experience and giving your ideas of what works best for you. Please don't let any of us intimidate you. We argue back and forth but we are mainly friends having fun Tire pressure is truly personal preference .......... I run 10 front 12 rear. To help prevent sidewall punchers. However, I recognize the benefits of lower pressure.
