Not that I'm gonna do that anytime soon, but just wondering the pros and cons.

Hummm. Pros- Lower CG. Lower limb clearence. Less lean into tree factor. Don't have to open the garage-door as high. Just plain looks better........ :D
Cons- Might loose stock-headrests, depending on how you do it. Might bump yer head. :drunken:

I think it is a great idea. I would love to lower mine a few inchs. It would look a lot better and would help go under some trees.

Yeah, I know the original headroom is high for a reason and I'd say that a harness setup would be mandatory for a lowered cage. The cage in this vid looks lowered to me and if the guys had not had helmets on, well, brains (or maybe not) all over the pavement.

I like the looks of a lowered cage, but I will never do it unless it is a super reinforced aftermarket cage. Right now it would not be an option because Marlee has her PRP seat and she sits up high. The lower clearance for limbs would be nice, but not sure if the payoff is worth the price.

i cant decide on lowering mine or getting an aftermarket. im wanting to add additional bracing in spots as well as the down tubes into the bed but dont have access to a tubing bender. but here is a great thread on chopping the stock cage 4". has the measurements and where to make the cuts.

I believe the head clearnace may be an issue for some if the stock cage is lowered. "May" give you a little less protection in a roll. For sure, it would be a liability issue if anyone was hurt and a lawyer got involved.

I know I can not lower the stock on my Rhino. My helmet hits the cage too much already in rough riding.

Need harnesses Roameer.
I have enough of a problem buckling the stock belt. I've watched friends with harnesses and will definitely get frustrated with that....

Aint a way in hell I could lower my cage unless I lowered the seats the same amount I could actually use a few inches more since the intstall of my speaker bar

Shawn,
Did you raise the speaker bar? I am no way near as tall as you and I would hit my helmet on the bar.
