What a difference 3 weeks makes!

I took this pic on the 24 of last month. It's of a big gravel and sand bar on the Little Kanawha River at the mouth of Rock Run in Wirt County WV.

I shot this pic yesterday morning. Wife had a doc's appt. late yesterday afternoon and we took a short ride to one of our favorite local spots.

This far out on the bar we'd have been in almost 4 feet of water 3 weeks ago. Yesterday it was sunny as you can see and 68*. Could sure have used a little of this last Fri and Sat huh?

This one is of an old oil well pumping house about 3 miles up Rock Run.

Freaking timber company is in this area clear cutting and tearing up everything in sight. Don't know how much longer we'll be able to ride here with the way things are going. They cut down all the native hardwood and re plant with nothing but pine trees.
