| Has anyone else had trouble with the stock rhino axle nut? I have noticed that when I remove an axle nut it doesn't want to stay tight as well. I have to put a new one on. Has anyone had any luck coming up with a cotter pin or safty wire or something?

| mine stay tight. i just get a big ol rachet with a long cheater bar, and have someone stand on the brakes so i can wrench it down. i dont ever hammer them back down into those knotches either. what about a little loctite on them. | |

| Tonys Toys has come up with a deal he calls posilock, it goes over the wheel studs and is cut out to fit the axle nut so when you put wheel on, the nut can not back off. | |

i dont ever hammer them back down into those knotches either. what about a little loctite on them. I do, or did, like Moto92 suggests......however I had to rethink that as I had my left rear tire, yes with the hub, pass me on the right. Mine are cotter pinned now. I milled out slots like a crown nut in a couple of old axle nuts I had....so far its holding.

| How hard was it to drill the hole in the axle? | |

I pulled mine and drilled them on my mill. But that wasnt really necessary. If the axles are heat treated Yama would be going for tensile strength, not hardness, if you can get your hands on a center drill it would make it a lot easier to get your drill bit going. It also helps to use a punch and mark your spot and to give the center drill less chance of rolling off the axle.

| I have a mill that I haven't even used yet. I guess that it is time to knock the dust off of it. | |
