| I got this yesterday from a pal that lives out there in Redding.
California passed a new law yesterday... All tire stores, lube joints and auto repair places are now required to check your tire pressure and must use the new "STATE" approved tire pressure gauges...they also have to record the fact that they checked your tires and keep a record of it..
I can just see it now on the bill...CHECK TIRE PRESSURE...$2.00
Amazing huh!!! | |

And then the rest of the country follows suit! I think Cali was one of the first places to ban smoking in public places! | |

| I believe the Feds now require a tire pressure reading system on new vehicles. That's something else we don't need to be paying for!. Sid. ( Maybe in years to come they will have roadside pressure reading monitors that check your tire pressure when you ride by and if low, you will get a ticket in the mail) | |

| Yep the left coasters are, run over dog, crazy. I did a little research to see how much you fuel you could save with properly inflated tires, I didnt expect what I found. 26,000,000 + or - a few, cars in Cali. You increase gas mileage around 3.3% with the correct tire pressure. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/maintain.shtIf you get 200 miles out of a tank of gas. mileage would increase by six and a half miles. if you fill your tank 24 times a year you would get 158 miles extra, a year. So.....with 26,000,000 cars you could possibly increase mileage, state wide, by 41,184,000 miles. or 41,184,000 / 20 = 2,059,200 gallons of gas. There are 42 gallons of oil in a barrel of crude. A barrel makes about 21 gallons of gas 102,960 barrels of crude saved by correct air pressure. That said, heres a good one, Animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school, or place of worship. | |

| I have nothing against properly inflated tires. Lord knows I try to keep up with my own. The point I thought odd was that they all have to buy "New, State approved tire gauges." And worst of all, KEEP A RECORD OF WHO'S TIRES THEY CHECKED AND THE RESULTS! Can you believe the cost of all that? Wow. Just glad it ain't me! | |
