700 E-brake. Empty
PostSubject: 700 E-brake.   700 E-brake. EmptySun Apr 05, 2009 9:06 pm

hey guys . i nticed last time i rode my e brake wouldn't hold. well i tried to adjust it today and noticed a little problem. one of the pads was gone. i have accidently left it on a couple of times for a short while, but not enough i would have thought would destroy it. I was going to order some new ones, but nobody actually list the 700 e-brake pads. i am assuming they are the same as 660 rears? If anyone knows for sure, please let me know.

thanks MP

I have not checked mine yet, but my E brake is not holding for crap either. It has almost 600 miles. I am going to try and adjust it. I hope you get yours fixed. It is a pain not to have it when you need to stop on a hill!

Lt there is a screw with a jam nut on the back of the caliper
on the park brake. jack it up. make sure park brake lever is down.
roll wheels , adjust the screw till you cant roll the wheels. .
then back off a 1/4 turn. tighten jam nut and your done.... allright

this is on a 700 , i dont know about a 660

Gonna be the first thing I do once it warms up. I sprayed most of the big mud off, but it is windy and cold as snot here today. I don't feel like getting out in that crap. I did get down and look at it last night while I was spraying it off. It is the same principle as the little wingnuts on the Honda rear brakes. I don't see it being an issue, as long as I have good pads. I sure hope it did not get driven with the park brake set.
