| I have ran the cheap stuff all the way up to 110 octane race gas, I have found that it doesnt really matter what you run in it as long as it is fresh! Seems to run a little better on 89 though! | |

| 93 octane is the only thing I will run in mine. I know for a fact that the lower octane fuels will build up varnish in the fuel system. I work on petroleum equipment.,when we pull a submerge pump from a 87 octane tank the motor has a aluminium cover and it will be brown, from a 89 octane tank it will be a light brown, from a 93 octane tank it will shinny just like new. So the same goes for your tank and fuel system. You want dirty or clean? | |

| My wife runs 89 in her ride, kinda splitting the difference. I run 93 in every thing else, lawn mowers, blower, weed eater, Polaris, rhino, chainsaw etc. never had any trouble after a winter sitting in the shop. come spring they start right up no carb problems at all. Cost a little more but well worth it. | |

| This is a very old debate that I have watched for years on motor performance. The answer has always come back to if you don't run a High Compression performance engine (10-1 and up) that you are wasting your money. This is the first I've heard from a Distribution mechanic (Flytrap) about this brown residue on the delivery equipment. Very interesting. I just wonder if it is from the nature of the product, or the fact that you have 10X the amount of gas going thru the 87 octane pump vs. the 93? I know in the past you always heard that one gas supplier had better gas than the other, and that used to be true years ago. But, wasn't due to the gas. It was the additives that were put in for engine cleaning. I have a refinery about 25 miles from the house ( Ashland, KY.) and have talked to guys that worked there. They say all the gas companys load their fuel out of the same tanks at that refinery. The only difference is that each company has an employee there that puts their additive into the trucks after their loaded. All the gas companies today have very good additives, that keep your engine clean, where back in the 80's and early 90's that wasn't the case. It would be interesting to to test 2 tanks of fuel in the Rhino. One with 87, and one with 93. Do some acceleration runs, and overall mileage numbers to see if their is a difference. But, I bet their is not. | |

| Like Fly - I too have thought and known the same things about reidues. I run 93 in everything. The price isnt much more...until I fill up both 100 gal tanks in my boat! :| | |

| Stock Timing and Stock Compression .You need no more Octane than 87. But if you want to feel some good power gains run a High Oxengenated fuel such as VP's MR9. Low octane ,but high in oxengenated agents ..You'll feel it.. Oh by the way its 20 dollars a gallon. Remember if your engine does not need high octane fuel as with High compression or advanced timing your wasting your money on "RaceGas". But High Oxengenated fuels do make a differance. Just a little expensive.. Vince |

| I have run both in mine and seems to run smoother on the 93 octane. And my Truck does too. |
