Out of curiousity does anyone know if UTV rims are built heavier, for the weight difference between the two?

Hmm... good question.

I don't know, but will make a guess.
I say they are built the same because they both would have to be able to take lots of abuse, bending type torque loads and getting beat and banged into stuff. I think the tire is what ultimately has to handle the pure weight. 2cents Wave

I don't know for sure, but the King Quad has aluminum rims. They are lighter but I hear they will not stand up to the added weight of a SxS. I have never tested the theory. If you order a set of rims from ITP for the Rhino and Grizzly there is no difference. I am not sure about factory rim specs though.

i have steel wheels on my 08 king quad... i bought some
aluminum wheels that come off the rhino (i think) and
i cant tell the difference.... except the aluminum is lighter.
(both are same die cutt)
....and pertaining to what chris said... the lug patterns are
different.

Bubba, the bolt patterns are the same on my King Quad and Rhino. Actually, my old Honda Foreman had the same bolt pattern too.....4+110. Only difference was the offset for the IRS machines. I have swapped rims between the machines. I know Po-Po and Kawi have a different bolt pattern, and I think Can-Am too.
