| replaced the starter assembly, still no go but the funny noise when attempting to start still happening. had it in nuetral and accidently pushed the brake in and noticed the noise level decreased/weakend. Immediately i thought battery. Hooked up my battery charger and bumped the rhino over, still made the noise but i could hear the starter engage. hit jump start and got the rhino going.
got my meter tester and was getting a reading of 12.03 -11.96 nothing steady. Turned the headlights on and got appx 1 volt drop. lights were pulsating, dim/semi normal.
Very strange i have not noticed any problem starting except right before it quit.
Battery is from the 05 rhino and i think i got it in november of 04 , battery can be shot, but not sure.
Anybody checked thier rhino to see what it puts out ? I have one more thing to check and thats to pull a brand new battery out of the boat and see what happens.

| I know the Rhino is very sensitve to battery-voltage. I'm by no means an expert at the electrical-system. I made the mistake of killing my battery riding at night with wayyyy too many lights on. It took about a month for the battery to build back up with the Rhino charging-system. The stator out-put is very low, so a bad-battery taxes the charging-system big-time. I'd try the battery for sure. | |

| pate, i had a brain fart awhile ago about the other battery. it would work but not eliminate the battery charging. I believe now the voltage i was reading was the charging effort. i pulled the rhino in its shed and turned it off. put left the key on so the fan would kick in. had digi tach lights and mph gauge on while just the fan was running, just for grins i turned the headlights on , and everything, everything went dark. killed the fan and the lights on the gauge. I am about to say its the battery for certain.
The stators on the early rhinos definetly suck, 30 watts. One reason i put the stereo and some lights on a deep cycle under neath the drivers seat.
went stuff goes wrong around here it goes wrong LOL. Dont even begin to ask me how i feel about ethynol in gas. hint, always put sta bil or additives in your gas tanks. oh well if i was a weekday drinker i think i would call it quits and toss one back

| I DO NOT have any holdings in ANY WAY in this outfit! But I use their products and believe in them and their results! I use RV/Marine Deep Cycle Batteries on my boat. Used to have to replace them every other year or so. Since I started using a Battery Tender on them I am getting FIVE YEARS out of a battery nowdays. I keep one on the boat and have another that I switch back and forth between the Rhino and my riding mower. Batteries always have a full charge and last a LOT longer. These ARE NOT like an old fashion "Trickle Charger". Anyhow, they sure work for me. Battery Tender 2009 Welcome to Batterytender.com...
