| From RZRForums this morning.................... possible recall. love me or hate me. sorry -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As you all know about how your gas tank is exposed in front of the rear tire and header above.... And a lot of fires including my own listed as "lost my baby" in this forum. my dealer in hot springs Arkansas has filed a compliant for me to Polaris in June. Last week a engineer from Polaris called me after reading my statement and viewing a dozen photos we sent, asking me what happened and how. They now have a concern about there gas tanks. the exposed portion is very easily to puncture and the spilling of fuel will be spun upon the header with the rear tire and ignite. "5 gal. of gas at once is a big fire. I know first hand, I was in it when it happen." He says there looking into making a guard for this portion of the tank and recall all 2007 to date. and next years mod. may have a redesign tank, or a smaller tank so none of it will be sticking out into the open. I wish they would replace mine, but I not holding my breath. mine was a 09, 300 miles, 7 months old. | |

| they all are bad for that!!! my rhino has been on fire 3 or 4 times at the headpipe and the rzr has once. leaves and grass will get on the pipe and catch on fire. but the fuel tank on the rzr is not protected well from the factory. | |

| I had a stick about 1" in diamater and 16" long run up between my frame and gas tank on the Rhino on the outside towards the door. It actually left a scar on my gas tank. Have no idea how that happended without tearing the stick up cause the opening was half the size of the stick. Had a hell of a time getting it out of there. | |

| DD that ain't no S models, its a 09 standard. I read his whole little story a long time ago when it happened, said he was just riding thru a pasture and it busted out in flames and he jumped out and ran up to his house for a hose and it burnt before he could get back. i dont buy that whole story myself, ive been in some treacherous places and have the roughed up skids to prove it and not a single mark on my tank, cause i checked it before trading when i pulled the skids. And he busted it in a pasture. I think there was a lot of in that pasture that day | |
