| I posted it rf.net - but figured I would ask here....
has anyone lowered their stock cage - say 3"....
I am figuring - cut the bottom, re-weld bolt ons, heat bend, move a lil, bolt back on...
am I crazy? Can this be done? If so, then I just have to work some rear supports and voila.
Now for the seat....
will the seat lowering braces I read about work with oem seats? Anyone know how far down they lower?
I am considering new seats in the distant future - would I need a special lowering base for some of those?
Long story short - just trying to pick everyones brain for some ideas - any input or pics are much appreciated.
Thanks

Robbie Robbie, It can be done. Nick has his lowered some. With seat lowering bases from BRP you have to drill holes to mount the seats of any kind anyway, so I see no reason you could not use the stockers until you change them and then mount the new seats to them even tho you'll have some extra holes from the stockers, but that should'nt matter. My buddy Mike wants to cut-down his stock cage and since we have a spare, we're gonna try it in the not too distant future. Jimbo |

| When we first got our Rhino it lacked maybe a inch from fitting through the door of our enclosed motorcycle hauler. I tried letting the air out of the tires, turning the shock adjuster back, thought about a spare (shorter) tires and rims, looked at how much trouble it would be to unbolt the cage each time. Then my plan was to lower the stock cage. I am not a welder so I did not attempt it. We have since lifted the Rhino 2" so we did nothing with the cage and just haul it on a open trailer.
I have heard it can be lowered as much as 3". Don't know for sure! Keep us posted.

| glad to hear it can be done...wheelin I appreciate you getting in touch with fly - couldnt make the call tonight, but hopefully tomorrow....
in the mean time - would you mid take a few pics of your cage???
most importantly - the cut portions on the legs an dhow they attach again...and maybe the bend. also any pices you put in the bed - still trying to come up with ideas for that - and any pics would be a HUGE help...
thanks...
oh, and the reason I want to do this - I want to lower my seats, cage, add rear stability and a spare mount, give it a more sporty look, and hopeully lower the top weight a scoche and add a lil weight to the rear.

| in case anyone else was curious... http://www.rhinoforums.net/showthread.php?t=10548&page=2thanks wheelin!! SOOOOO....my next mod - seat bases, lower cage, add rear supports, front supports, and a different 4 point bar (why did I buy one - damnit - and no I wont sell it - I will use it for scrap metal) and then a different roof to get rid of the Yamaha GOlf Cart / Bob the Builder plastic Roof. oh, and I got some 12g weights to put in the clutch to give me a lil more low and mid grunt!! after that - saving up for beadlocks!!! Doubt I will have them by April 12 gncc - but the cage and other stuff should be done by then. | |

| I'd like to lower my cage so there would be less issues with trees. Every inch in height matters since off-camber seems to exagerate it... | |
