2009 Polaris sales down

Polaris ATV/UTV sales not so hot.

Like the automotive industry the powersports industry is getting hit just as hard. While the economy isn’t showing many signs of improvement neither are atv & utv sales. According to a recent Powersports Business article, Polaris ATV sales are down a whopping 30-35 percent and Ranger/RZR sales are down 10-15 percent from last year. With these figures I would guess is the main reason we are seeing product delays and announcements from all side x side manufactures. The good news is Polaris, Honda and Yamaha seem to be increasing market share of ATVs/UTVs while Suzuki, Can-Am, Kawasaki and Arctic Cat are the ones giving it up. I was a little surprised to see Kawasaki losing ground because I thought the Teryx’s were selling quite well considering. Can-Am has die hard fans begging for a side x side vehicle with no luck yet, not even a spy shot to keep people hanging on. Suzuki mentioned a few years ago about entering the UTV market, but like Can-Am we haven’t seen or heard anything lately.

I can't believe Polaris sales are down. Every time I go riding I see more and more RZR out there.

Polaris sales are down due to bulding a trouble free ride and no one has to trade every other year.

you have posted Arctic Cat and now polaris sales, Why not just show all the major brands sales?? I think you would find All sales are down across the board.

I'm sure all sales are down. Arctic Cat and Polaris are all I have seen advertised so far. I will post more as I see them. allright

Some of the above info is incorrect Kawasaki is actually gaining market share, even though sales of all brands are down, Yamaha and Suzuki are loosing the most share, Kawasaki surpassed Suzuki in motorcycle market share for the first time this past year, this was all info given out at the dealer meeting.
