Had a visitor this morning

Well I made up my mind about 0530 that if anything decent over a 6pt came by that I was shooting. Had a couple around my stand before daylight, then about 0640 this guy came sniffing around where I had some Code Blue and Tinks. I was going to pass on him at first, but then decided to take him since I only had today and tomorrow morning to hunt.





Now it's off to WV next weekend for their gun season, then to Ohio.....

Hope some of you other guys have luck in KY today (Clay, Austin, Chad and son).

Good on ya Capt. I'd have shot that guy in a red hot minute! See my post in jokes about WV DUI's. That plate looks like all good Mountaineer plates ought to look. Lucky you get to hunt on Sunday in KY cause ya can't do that here.

Would you believe that this is the first deer I have had come by me in about 5 weekends of hunting? I have been hunting on post here and have seen ZERO deer while I have been hunting. Definitely not what I am used to. I never failed to kill deer while hunting in WV and OH. I saw a MONSTER buck two weekends ago while on my way out to my designated area in the back 40. There are some real bruisers down this way, but once I come back from my two weeks of leave I know I will be busy packing, clearing, and tying up all of my loose ends at work. If I am lucky I may get to hunt the late KY blackpowder a day or two or possibly squeeze in another hunt on post. From what I am seeing, the bucks are just now starting to come around. I don't know if it is the warmer weather or what. I hope they are still running does by this time next week. I got a place to go in WV that is polluted with deer. Maybe I will have some luck and put another one down. I am hoping Tim puts me in a good spot.
