No not really. I took it off this past weekend because it was sitting on my new lights when the lid was opened but I couldn't tell much difference. Depending on how you stack your cargo that is, if you stack it tall right in front of the driver you could block your vision...

| Not fast enough...lol The Pro Armor Safari rack came with a underhood support for the additional weight of the rack and accessories, I left the support when I removed the rack. The hood pins are part of that setup, the four bolts you see are the bolts that was used to mount the underhood support to the hood. - moto92 wrote:

| After much search and consideration I could not find a spare tire carrier that suited my needs and looks so I decided Yesterday I was going to build my own.... I got out this afternoon and made some shape out of my idea.... I went with this design because I have always loved the Baja Trucks plus it goes with the theme of my bike.. I have not smoothed the welds nor slapped some paint on it yet but this will give you an idea.... With this design I have not had to drill any holes in the bed ( I may but not yet) I am currently using the stock lower cargo hook bolts and the tailgate strap bolt.... I appears to be very strong(before removing and welding up I basically jumped up and down on it with no issues nor movement). The center brace has been moved and centered since this picture was taken.. This will give you an idea of how it mounts... I made the bar the tire attaches to movable for the use of different offset wheels( so you can keep the tire as low as possible)... It uses two lug nuts to mount.. The next few pictures are of the tire mounted. This is a picture of the unit removed.... If I might add it is easily removed just remove the 6 bolts and lift strait up and out.... If you have any ideas or suggestions I would love to hear them... | |

| Great fab work Neil! But I might try making it where the spare tire stands up a little more to give a little more cargo bed room, but you might have it setting down so you can see behind you easier.........But it's looking good! | |

Thanks bro, As for cargo room I could have moved it outward or up for more room but I tried to keep it as far inward and low as possible that's why I put the cooler in the bed and built around it. More room could be had without raising the tire by moving it backwards but that would yield more weight transfer to the rear.

| Here's a few pictures when everything is painted and mounted... If this does good I think I will be putting some kind of bed liner coating on it like the herculiner I used on the bed so it will be durable and match.. This is with the bed at full tilt. On a side note I also replaced rear bearings on both sides today... | |

Mine are Sizemik's modular kit!! The only thing about them is they come with soft covers which will wear if you ride the mud and woods, my soft covers lasted one winter and I ruined them.. I am thinking about making a set of aluminum skins for mine...

| I have the J-Strong's and I love them. With the latches they send, the doors will open when you hit bumps in the trail. So I made my own, they never open now. The price has also came down a lot on these too!! | |
