| I would think it would be a diesel. They 45 miles per hour would be OK. | |

| I saw a couple of nice looking John Deere machines overseas. In my opinion, I still think it would never be able to compete on trails with machines like the Rhino, Teryx and RZR. The JD really are a glorified golf cart. They have come a long way from the old Gators that would only do 12mph though. I am excited to see one of these when they do hit the market. I know they did not have much success with the ATV they came out with. Maybe this will be different. | |

| i still dont believe it would compete with the rhino teryx or the rzr.stil seems like either a pure race machine or a farm hauler | |

| Sounds like this one is gas, not diesel. Check the link in my first post above for more...
There's a tiny clip of a front fender -- looks pure sport/ute -- nothing like any Gator seen to date...

I understand. I've always thought anything with a JD label on it to be overpriced for what you get, myself... That being said, I find it interesting that they may be entering the sport/ute market at this time, when manufacturers like Can-Am are "afraid to"... JD has incredible brand loyalty and an extensive dealer network. IMO, if they bring a decent product to market, they'll certainly sell some to farmers, ranchers and hunters... Who's going to give up that market share, in a market that is already down due to the economy?

Your right Kent, I do give them credit for at least taking a step, that step yet to be determined, but a step nonetheless. I've never personally looked at any of thier UTV product-line, so I guess I need to shut-up. I've see a few from the street, and honestly, from a distance, they looked pretty good.

They had a nice looking four wheel drive one. I just know they are underpowered and really not geared toward trail riding. Maybe the one they are coming out with will be different.

| I would not mind having a 620i at the lake. It is a great machine for work. I can't wait to see what this new machine looks like. | |

| when you buy John Deere all you are doing is buying the name there are far better tractors out there than JD especially the lawn tracters that are just a murry with green and yellow paint. some of you may know JD had a ATV out for a few years but it was a bombardier AKA can-am. they tried to sell them for more than the allready high price that bombardier sold them for is why they did not last. but who knows this new JD SxS may be a reworked can-am sxs that is going to be released for testing. very unlikely but you never know. | |

Your right-on there bro. I bought a POS JD lawn tractor from Home-depot. I've got an old-school Murry from the late 70's that cuts better than the POS JD. Sorry you hit a nerve there, I hate the POS and am sorry I spent the money on it. I'm gonna post a pic one of these days of it on fire, I'm gonna burn it down..................

| I've seen a pretty nice looking John Deere SxS at the local JD dealership. It is pretty nice looking machine. I can't remember for sure but seems like it was a 650. Reminded me more of a Teryx than anything size wise but had different plastics. With the 650 maybe it was an Arctic Cat chassis and engine. Wasn't really interested enough to take too close of a look. It was pretty big and was a far cry from the old golf cart style Gators. Looked like it would be a decent trail and farm machine. | |

| The 55 HP would be nice... and if it topped out at 45 that could mean it is geared right.... or it could mean it needs a cdi change..... or???? I would like to see the market get more competition so maybe the prices would come down a little. | |

| the new 825i come in both gas and diesel. they compete with the rhino through the woods and around the fields. my dad had an 04 gator (old style) with solid back axle and he went anywhere and everywhere i did with my rhino. the only problem he had was the belt was exposed and couldn't ride through as much water has as i did. he is getting the new gator xuv 620i in the OD green. supposedly you are able to run through 22 inches of water because they redesigned several things on it and added independent rear suspension. they built the xuv models to be more competitive with the ranger and rhino. i guess we we see how it holds up. as far as the JD mowers from home depot they are a cheaper built JD to compete more with the cheaper lawn tractors. if you buy a JD mower from the dealer it will hold up alot better and it is a better built machine. you pay a little more at the dealer but get better quality and the JD warranty if in case u need it. | |

| I think it was a year of so ago that JD bought Murray mowers and started building their lawn tractors in the murray plant. If you check the Home Depot price and JD price on the same model the price is the same and the tractor is the same. So no matter where you buy the mower it is the same. I am not sure who builds the higher end lawn tractors though. | |

| If you want a JD you have to go to a JD dealer. The ones in Lowes and Home Depot are not true JD just their name. The same for Huski mowers and chain saws. | |
