WV Ride for a cause........May 8th 2010

Big Orange (Amy) is having the WV Make a Wish Ride for a Cause ride again this year to support the Make a Wish foundation. This will be held at the Coal River trailhead of the Hatfield/McCoy trails. This is a great event that is put on by these folks.

Hatfield/McCoy trails will give a free 1 day pass for this event, so no permit needs to be purchased.

This will be the 2nd event for WV Ride For A Cause. The first was held in 2008 in Sanderson WV, the event was such a great success we had to do it again. If you were there you were part of the success, if you were not, then you MUST join us for this one.

As stated on our website, alone, most of us can not grant a child's wish, but together we can make dreams happen.

H&M has partnered with us for the event to provide the trails, we also give away door prizes and feed everyone after the event. Last time we fed everyone fresh fried catfish (yes we cleaned all 500 lbs of them) and polish sausages with all the fixins. Still working on this years menu :-) don't worry it will be yummy.

We are in the planning and organizing stage and are in need of sponsors and doorprizes, if anyone would like to contribute please contact me.

Yank and I have been to this event before, it was a great time for a great cause.

My hats off to H/M trail system for helping out. As a rule, outfits like that are not that helpful. What a great way to have a lot of fun and help someone at the same time. Hard combo to improve upon! The Boss and I will try to be there for this one if there is any way we can.

You are looking at about 3 1/2 hours North about 20 minutes from Charleston. go to trailsheaven.com you will be able to find trailmaps and trail info there

I hope to see a bunch of you guys at this event, it is for a great cause and a good time. If any of you were at the last one you know it is a great event. Just knowing you are doing something good while you are doing something you love is a great reward.

I was really looking forward to the ride again. Not looking like i'm going to make it right now. My sons graduation from Basic Training in Georgia is tentative for May 7th. We will see.

Looks like I now have a deadline to pick out a sxs! LOL!

ok can someone help figure out ow this works ? how do we register what fees are there ? and what does the ride consist of ? sounds like a great cause !

Fees: You can pre-register this saves you $5.00 and guarantees your t-shirt size. Go to www.wvrfac.com and print out the registration form (it is on the left of the pic) and send it back in. Everyone must fill out the form.

Your registration fee includes: 1 day trail pass to Little Coal River, T-shirt, door prize tickets and poker run entry.

The ride will be a poker run, you will have check points marked on a trail map, at each stop you will receive verification that you have been there. If you don't care about the poker run and just want to ride that is fine as well. At the end of the event, we will have food, poker hand winner, give out door prizes and our raffle drawings.


We try to make it a good time for our participants, all while giving back while doing what we all love to do.

Now, why would you stay home, when you can go riding with your buddies, get a chance at some prizes, eat great food, and give back while making a child smile?

anybody want to hook up and carpool togather up to wv to this event? i would like to go but no since in taking the f350 and the car hauler for one sxs.

We have a hard time getting the GA boys up to WV......

i probably wont be able to come unless we can get a few of us together to split the costs of the travel up there as well as i think it is stupid to haul one sxs on my car hauler since the rhino wont go in the back of the truck because of a tool box. if needed i can even get use of a 24 foot deck over goose neck equipment trailer and haul 5 or 6 just pm me and let me know and we will see if we can get a group together.
