| I have a quick question for those of you with the EMP skids on your RZRs. I have contacted EMP, but have not gotten an answer yet, so I thought I'd check here.
Do the skids cover the bottoms of the front and rear diffs? From the pictures on the EMP website, I cannot tell if they do or not. If they do not, what are you using for protection for the diffs if anything?
Before I hit the trails, I will be running skids. I have Ricochets on my Can_Am and like them, but I see from this forum and others that they are not liked very well by the RZR crowd.
Thanks

| no, most all rzr skids dont, its not really needed as the rzr has its own metal frame covers in those areas. if you want the best protection at a fair price check out the ones from aluminum products with the side protection. Side protection on these cover all the way out to protect your side areas and do away with the need for rock sliders. I have emps but would have bought these if they had been available at the time. | |

| Jerry, you might be one to consider rollcage side-skids LOL Skids are on my list for sure. I finally got around to ordering doors today, so skids will be next. | |

| Yeah that looked bad. I am glad he is okay.
Back to the topic of skids..... Dirt Performance has some really cool side protection that would replace the need for rock sliders. I have seen them in action and are top notch. As far as the belly skid, the S with a lift does not bottom out hardly at all. We rode over some pretty good obstacles this weekend and I did not hit the belly once. I would say unless you know you are gonna be doing some serious rock crawling, skids could possibly take a back seat to something else. Of course that is just my opinion. EMP makes quality stuff for sure, as does Dirt Performance. I really don't know about the Aluminum Products skids, but I agree with Gunny......they do seem to come out farther on the side and offer good side protection (based off the picture). If you do go with EMP, he offers a discount to members of the West Virginia SxS Riders. I am not sure what the discount is.

| My factory skid was ok until it caught the edge on a rock and peeled it back. EMP does offer a discount to WVSXSR but there were'nt enough drain holes for me | |

| I went with aluminum products mainly because of the side protection, the dirt performance skids are top notch, but they are about twice the price, so for my budget i got the aluminum products. So FAR SO GOOD | |

| I went with EMP. Call them @216-267-5335 and ask for, and deal only with Rick. Tell him your with the club and ask for a complete package deal (all 4 pieces). He even through in a $49.99 storage bag for in between the seats. Total for everthing was $450.00, back in November for me. That was better than anything I could find at the time. | |

| Thanks for all the info! Skids may wait a while, but not too long. I'll look really hard at the Aluminum Products skids. I had not seen them listed as an option.
I just gotta get my new ride out ...

| OK ... I resurrected this topic because I am still looking at skid plates for my RZR I am still weighing options. I have seen these on eBay and the price is reasonable. Does anyone have any experience with these? Hyperfab SkidsOther than a lack of drainage holes, they look reasonable. I am still considering EMP, Aluminum Products, the Strong Built (I think those are the ones bush has), and Ricochet .... | |

| I am regretting the aluminum skid in the rocks it hangs up and the front pulls left to right where the plastic glides over. The UHMW plastic from EMP would be my next skid | |
