| Better built is somewhat of an illusion. I could list many problems people have had with the rhino and with the rzr, the teryx the arctic cat and every other brand. So untill you find something that is trouble free then they all can break or have issues. It would be fun to see someone take each brand and compile a list of every issue each has had that someone has posted to a forum about and see whos list is the longest. you might be surprised which brand is more trouble free than the others. | |

I don't think that would be a fair measure at all... Though Polaris might be out-selling Yamaha now, who has sold the most UTVs? The more machines out there, the more likely you'll see people talk about a problem... It'll be interesting to see what's been the feedback on the RZR, and the list of problems/issues, once it's been on the trails as long as Rhino has... Until then, I'd tend to agree with Ronnie that as far as maintenance required per mile, Honda is still likely the most relaible ATV/UTV, followed by Yamaha, and the all the rest can compete for 3rd place and below... Now, it you want to measure performance, it'd be a whole different sequence...

Gunny, I have to agree with Kent. The RZR will have to be on the trails for a few extra years before you can start comparing problems. The first year that I had the Rhino I had zero problems and I mean ZERO. I had 1200 to 1500 miles on it before I had my first problem. More then likely I caused that problem myself. We abuse these machines. It is how they handle the abuse. Gunny you are one that is excluded from the present RZR group. You have never owned a Rhino. So you can say what you want. It is the guys that have talked bad about the RZR one day then say it is the best thing out there the next. Lets be real about things. You on the other hand have always thought what you owned was the best thing on the market......

Yeah, but the golf cart does not get the job done. It can not pull the log splitter. Also, we do a lot of night riding there and the golf cart can not get threw the trails that we ride. To be honest, I will eventually have some type of four seat-er.

| Some of Gunnys posts when he owned a Prowler-All from www.Arctichat.com"You never spent much time on the rhino forums, there frames break all the time on the right front taking the a frame and all off, also the rack steering box breaks in two pieces and the rear diff mounts crack all the time. 90% of Rhino motors are done at around 2k miles also.I have yet to hear about any of these type issues with a prowler and when somebody does have a issue its mostly because of abuse. Prowlers are not perfect by a long shot but compared to the others they are better than most as to reliability and longevity" " I guess its just me but I cant see 14k for a sxs. by the time you tricked it out your in for 17-18k. " "Huh???????/// 1000 prowler is not out yet, if ever. no such thing as a 550 prowler or any prowler with efi except the 08 700, so whats up with this post??????????????? " "Your in the same boat with every brand as to warranty, they all have only 6 months. But they all will sell you an extended one if you want to pay for it. They all have issues, just check out the other forums, rhinos have a bunch, polaris has less than rhinos but still they have them. You can change brands but none are bullitproof. " Oh yeah...........This ones great. "If reading this forum scares you about the prowler cause they have some small issues from time to time go read Highlifter under RUV or rhinoforums and get your pants scared off for sure. The amount of large issues the rhino, teryex and razrs are discussed there and believe me it makes the prowler seem perfect in comparison. But as we all know Nothing is perfect, but prowlers have way less major breakdowns than the others hands down" "Oh I didnt miss the point, its one race, razr won. So What? There are plenty others that prowlers won, rhinos won and others. Its just racin its not always the guy with the fastest or most power that ends up crossing the finish line first. " "Yea but had you rather go thru deep mud and have it on your boots or up around your chest, razrs sit you 12" above the ground. Ok if your running in the sand or dry areas but they suck big time in creeks, mudholes or other wet areas. I could go thru stuff that would drown a guy in a razr. " "The prowler has a abs floor, no stick is going thru it,If you hit a steel rod just right it might but that stuff will not break, its IMO as good as alum. any day. Now a rhino has a plastic floor and sticks bust them wide open all the time. " "Better beef up the rhino, they flip and roll much easier than the prowlers do." "I not debating anything, its just common knowledge to all of us that have owned arctic cat for a long time." "It's all good fun, but truthfully there are issues with rhinos where the right side assembly breaks off at the point where the steering section is connected. It happened to a friend of mine up at brimestone in TN. and they had to use a ratchet strap to tie together to get it out." "Hey if you love the rhino design better then why not just buy one but you might want to read about some of their design flaws. Rhinos must have been designed by a redneck southern osaka guy But I can tell you, Hit a big FREEKIN tree with it and you will get the same result, tree's tend to do that. We got lots of trees down here in the south but our daddys taught us to drive around them. Here is just one of countless threads about serious rhino problems, ask your dealer about this!" "I think a prowler would do better, they dont tip as easy and have more low end power. " "You bashed the roll bar system, the motors , the fuel tanks and so on, Its kool if you dont like prowlers but if you want to hang out with a bunch of rhino lovers go to high lifter, you can feel right at home with those guys, stroking each other in one topic and whinning about all the crap that breaks in another. You want to read about worn out smoking motors or blown motors and blown gears, rearends and hundreds of other things thats your place. Why hang around here after all you dont have a arctic cat anymore and we sure dont have any rhinos " "No but you got some free doors didnt you compliments of one of yamahas many lawsuits for killing and seriously injuring its owners in roll overs, you better have a strong roll bar on that rubber ball there buckwheat Read thev rhino forums and hear the guys with about 2k on them whinning cause the motors are worn out and need rebuilding. Rhinos sales are going to fall way off now that there are better and faster ones out there, kawi will take tons of rhino buyers away with its V-twin motor and the word is getting out about how tuff the prowlers are, read this months ATV RIDER MAG they say the prowler is one of the most extreme capable ruvs out there, they didnt say that about the rhino or the razr they tested a few months back. " That's all we have time for tonight fellers. There were 11 more pages. Sorry Gunny, Ronnies point is dead-on! If and when you own it, it's the best................ " They say the prowler is one of the most extreme capable ruvs out there, they didnt say that about the rhino or the razr they tested a few months back. " I'm not saying it's not.............but you are................ " And the frames do break on Rhinos all the time"..............I've never seen a case of a Rhino frame breaking..........."90% of Rhino motors are done at 2k"............. Sorry bud, but a lot of RZR motors did'nt make it 300 miles. Ask BobbyD......... | |

But I didn't get "The Word" Must have missed the E-mail. Look out all Rhino owners!!!!!!!!!! Your frame is going to break on the right front. This Defective-Notice comes from the Ultimate-Rhino-Professor, Gunny................
