HP difference between 06-07 ?

heard a rumor that there's quite a difference in HP between the 06 & older and the 07 660 models, anyone know if this is true ? if so what did yamaha do to make more power in the newer models ? thanks

Never heard that myself.

I never heard that either. as far as I know the 05-07 660's are the same. The 04 660 is different, but all I know is that it had a 150 Mikuni main jet, where the 05-07 have a 145 Mikuni main jet. They may have just reduced the jet size only from 04 to 05 to lean it out for emission regulations.

heard some kid at a recent ride talkin about it, then my buddy with an 06 said he had heard the same thing but not sure where he read it, possibly on Rf.net

there isnt one here in nc to get a rhino onto....you would think, but havent found one....


I would love to see how things really do and with cetain mods - and more importantly I need to DIAL MY JETS to 100% - not just plug looking :evil:

You can do that with a good Fuel/air guage. 14.7 to 1 ratio is perfect.

I use to work for Yamaha full time now only part time and There is NO Power difference. ALL the 660's have the same HP. whether it's a Sport or Special Edition. They have 40.9 HP to be exact so moreless 41HP. This is not true Rear wheel HP. That will be lower. This is the HP right off the Manufacture Title.
