| Anyone have your nuts on the bottom of your ball joints be loose? I thought I had a bad ball joint, but on further inspection the nut on the bottom was not tightened up all the way. No way it could have backed off too far because of the cotter pin. I tightened up the passenger side and it took all the slop out of it. I went and checked the other side and sure enough, it was loose too. I have never had them off so....WTF? | |

| I removed my spindles today and noticed that the nuts were not tight. The passenger side was snug (not tight) but the driver side was loose. | |

| At one time I had to tighten both upper ball joints and both tie-rods because they were loose and causing slack. Like you say they ain't going no where with the castle nuts. | |

| Hard to believe they would come loose with the pins in there. | |

Yea, they just back off till they hit the pin then stop. If they are left loose long enough they can cause wear on the ball joint and the hub to cause more slack. I don't know what the torque is suppose to be on them but I tighten the sh-t out of them...lol | |

| Very common on a Rhino. I don't think the factory gets them tight-enough. | |

| [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] The upper balljoint on the driver's side came loose about 15 feet from the top of the big hill on trial #49 at Brimstone. My wife and I were riding alone, but I got it fixed by stealing the jamb nut from the tie rod and using it on the balljoint. The winch remote was priceless with this repair. You can see it laying on the ground behind me in the 3rd picture. It allowed me to manipulate the winch while getting the balljoint back into the spindle. Gil | |
