Tired of tearing my machine apart to check oil Empty
PostSubject: Tired of tearing my machine apart to check oil   Tired of tearing my machine apart to check oil EmptySun Apr 04, 2010 9:17 pm

I came up with a solution.

I got the oil filter access cover from a Dodge Dakota or Durango

I used the splash shield from the Dodge as a template to cut the hole. I now have about a 5" hole to get my hand in and check the oil.

And here it is with the cap in place, (It's not perfect as I used a paint pen to trace the outline and it ran further than anticipated) but I can live with it as no hassle checking oil now.

Very good thinking JJJ! I remember what a pain it was to take that side panel off the King to check the oil. I am sure the Prowler is much more work.

Great idea! That would probably work just as well on a Rhino -- eliminating the need to remove the passenger's seat to check the oil... it would likely fit on the angled part of the engine surround jut fine.

cheers
