I lost a very dear Friend last night.

"Old Mike"! Mike was one hell of a man. A mine in Viet Nam blew his left leg off in 1970. He had nine operations trying to save the leg before they cut it all the way off. He had eight more operations fighting infection in the stump and damn near died a half a dozen times before they got it under control. From that period of his life until his passing last night, Mike had eight complete hip replacement operations caused by his injuries and infections. In 2007 Mike went with other friends of mine on an Elk hunt in the mountains of Colo. Thing was, Mike went with a fractured pelvis and an infection running wild. Never whined, never even told the guys till they were on the way home. He asked the guide if he had any penicillin for his horses and would he give Mike a shot? Guide of course said no to that plan. The Viet Cong couldn't kill him. The doctors and their damn knives couldn't kill him. But damn few men can beat old man Cancer! Rest in Peace Sgt. Mike. My friend. My Brother. My Comrade In Arms. This World is now a much lesser place.
