UTV Concepts Rhino Gauges on sale again...

If you're looking to add gauges to your Rhino, I can certainly recommend this package -- on sale again on Amazon . At $113.14 (including shipping) for water temp, oil pressure and voltmeter gauges (plus both sending units), dash plate with drink holders, add-on fuseblock, four waterproof switches, a ligher/aux power source, wiring, screws, instructions, etc. -- it's a VERY good deal.

That is a good deal! I payed 113$ for my Black Rhino water temp gauge!!! But its made by Livorsi marine.......

I purchased that UTV Concepts kit from Amazon. Great kit but it blew my 4wd front diff motor when I hooked it up by the directions. I wondered what happened to make me lose 4wd until I went to Rhinoforums and there was several posts that mentioned this same issue. Luckily there was an ebay auction for just the little servo motor in the 4wd Actuator for $50. I would have been really upset if I would have had to buy the actuator at $300.

Anyway -- great gauges and they work good now. Just don't trust the instructions if installing on a 660.

Wow! I had no idea that the instructions were causing failures...

The instructions weren't 100% correct for my 450 either, because my SE came with the digital gauge stock, while the other 450 models do not. I had to figure out how to connect one wire. Other than that, the instructions were spot on.

Note that I have no idea what the differences might be putting these on a 700...

The wiring for the senders to the gauges is not a problem. Where the problems appear to be is how to wire these prewired gauges into the electical circuits near your battery.

Don't trust the color-coding described -- I think that's what's causing the problems. Instead, figure out what each of the wires to be connected is being used for. As I recall, there's only three wires to wire in there, from the gauges themselves:

1. Switched power -- to provide power to gauges
2. Charging circuit for the voltmeter to measure the voltage
3. Lighting circuit to turn the gauge lights on when you turn the headlights on

Make sure these get wired into the correct circuits on the Rhino -- after looking at the Rhino's wiring diagrams. Again, don't trust the color-coding in the directions...

There is a much larger wire to provide the power to the add-on fuseblock, but that one is obvious.

You might also try contacting this guy -- he installed the same kit on a 700 FI.

They're toggle switches with a rubber boot over them on the front. In the back, there's an aluminum box-type shield that bolts on and clamps up against the plastic firewall, covering the back of the entire panel (guages, switches, etc).

Doubt it they're really submersible, but they stand up well to washing and power washing...

I just bought a set for $88.87 and free shipping. At that price i will try them out. I have been wanting a water temp gauge.

If you have a 700 model Rhino and you add the UTV Concepts Gauges.....the gear selector will not go in to Low range.

Simply not true -- if you wire them correctly.... if you're referring to Todd's kludged install video at Hunteworks, he did it without even trying to follow the instructions. I think he later pulled it down, because he'd sawed something off/out that wasn't even necessary.

Guys, there's almost certainly better gauges available -- but with the sales price you sometimes see on these, it's often about what you'd pay for just the oil pressure and water temp senders and adapters for them. The difference is that this is a complete kit, prewired, down to every screw or nut -- you don't have to figure it out, except for that one problemmatic connection -- including an a additional 35A 5-fuse junction box for the switches.

It is a simply a great bargain on some decent mid-level gauges. They're not the best, but they're not cheapies either...

Have installed per installation papers , the volt gauge light does not work,the temp gauge has a milky cast to it, something in gauge only see it when lights on, looks bad, Here is the big one gauge is way off shows fan on at 210 and off at 230. That is way off cost me $80 at shop to confirm it is off by 20deg. fan comes on at 220 and off at 180. AND PHONE # ON PAPER WORK HAS BEEN TURNED OFF. THEY MIGHT SOUND LIKE A GOOD DEAL. I WOULD NEVER BUY AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOUGHT THRU AMAZON CALLING TO BITCH

I'd complain to Amazon. If nothing else they should replace them for you...

Sorry you're having these problems. I obviously didn't, and love mine...

I also really like my gauges. I initially had an issue due to incorrect directions but once that was sorted out they have been great.

***UPDATE** AMAZON, JUST LET ME KNOW THEY ARE SENDING A NEW SET OUT 2-DAY I HAVE 30 DAYS TO RETURN AT NO CHARGE THAT IS GREAT , BUT THE 2HRS IT WILL TAKE TO REPLACE IT PRE-WIRED ALL OF THE SWITCHES. WILL LET YOU KNOW

Big D I understand the pain. When I installed mine the wiring instructions were incorrect and I blew out the front servo. Luckily I found the servo motor for $50 on ebay (from Yamaha is $350 and a used entire servo is $150). This took me several hours of additional time. Even with that major hassle I do like the guages. They look good and tell me what I need to know. I could not have made a better installation for $300...

Big D, just wondering, did you get to speak with someone on the phone at Amazon or did you have to do all your communications with them via e mails and stuff? Man I sure talk much better than I type. Haven't tried to install mine yet.

E-MAIL, NO PH #, I JUST TOLD THEM WAS DEFECTIVE AND WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO RETURN WITH OUT PUTTING RHINO OUT TILL NEW ONE GOT HERE, NEEDED NEW ONE HERE FIRST. I ALSO PUT IN E-MAIL I NEEDED DONE I WAS GOING TO CAL CREDIT CARD CO. AND DISPUTED PAYMENT, THEY E-MAILED BACK[IN 10 HRS] NO PROBLEM THEY WOULD SEND OUT NEW 2-DAY AND I HAVE 30 DAYS TO RETURN.
WHEN YOU INSTALL PRE- WIRE THE THE SWITCHES TO FUSE BLOCK AND TAG WIRES THEN WHEN YOU ADD THINGS YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PLAY UNDER DASH AND TAKE METAL BACK PLATE OFF ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TAG INTO WIRE AND PUT IN FUSE

I'm not sure the temp on mine. Remember the guage reads from whereever you put the probe -- mine is under the drivers seat. The stock fan on/off is in the radiator if I remember correct...

that might be it, because mine is in line by drivers seat also, will see when i get new one
