Here'ws a post I made on another forum:

I also rode the Commander X and XT this weekend at Windrock. Here's what I am comparing it to since I came from a 2004 Rhino to the 2010 RZR-S.

1. Gear selection kinda slow.
2. Very heavy steering even compared to my old Rhino
3. Alot of power but still don't think it will out pull the RZR-S on the same trail. The power lags alot before you feel it
4. BIG all over
5. X suspension is no way near the RZR-S on the fire breaks
6. Exhaust is very low. Sits right above the rear hitch.
7. Storage is GREAT!
8. Great instrument cluster
9. Great sound and smooth running engine.

The group of guys I rode with came off a Teryx, Rhino, RZR-S, and four-wheelers. I let the guys ride my RZR-S right after the test ride and pretty much got the same responses. I am not trying to bash the Commander or discourage anyone from buying one, but with all the hype I was expecting alot more. I am in no way partial to Polaris since my RZR is the first one I have ever owned, (Yamaha my whole life) but I would not trade it in for a new Commander.

Was the suspension worse all around or could you notice it more in the rear trailing arms?

The suspension on the X did not seem as smooth as the RZR-S on the same trail. The overall feeling felt alot like my old Rhino but with much better shocks. I hammered it through some the fire breaks on trail #1 and did the old "bucking" action. I could not tell of any real advantages to the Trailing Arms on the trail.

IMO, the S has a much plusher ride and when going over the fire breaks, the rear-end just squashes down instead of bouncing and bucking. (high tech suspension words right there)
