what is the favorite brand of winch??

I am considering getting a winch for the teryx and need your experienced advice... Best brand, best features, best size, rope or wire, best price. Thanks for any and all input.

One that works

This is like a tire question. There will be many opinions.

I am a Warn guy although for my Ranger I am trying the Venom 5000 and so far I am very happy with it. I am not a fan of the rope as I use my Ranger for work as well and I am not willing to take the steps to insure the rope does not get knicked.

I have a Ramsey W/wireless remote. I could have bought a cheaper winch for sure, but my wife and I ride alone a lot of the time and I wanted what I thought was the very best, American made quality that I could afford. Having said that, I really don't think there is a whole lot of difference between Ramsey and Warn. Just wanted to make sure that when needed and the button was pushed, the darn thing worked. So far it has.

I have two Warns one on my sidexside (4,000lbs.) and a 3,000 on my quad. They have always done what I have asked. No wireless and they are wire. I do like the looks of the rope though.

I have Warns. It is a great winch. I have a XT30 on the Rhino and a pure Polaris on the RZR (Warn 3500 or 4000) Not sure.

I like the synthetic rope. It is much lighter then cable. I have put the rope to the test and it has worked just fine.

Warn XT40's x 2 for me. I also have a older Warn 3000lbs. winch that I have had since 2004. Never have had a issue.

Warn XT30.

Thanks for the insight guy's. Looks like the warn with rope for me. now all I have to do is find the best place to purchase... any ideas? Oops, I went back through the posts and saw that Hunterworks is reccommended... works for me!

If you want something that will NEVER let you down.........

I have used the warn, viper, and now have the KFI 4000lbs wide spool.. No matter the brand you choose I defiantly recommend the wide spool..

Here ya' go. This is what I have had on mine for 3 years now. Superwinch ATV2500. Here it is for $120! Mine has never failed to work, nor has it ever failed to do the task that I needed it to do, whether recovering the rhino from a mud hole, putting the rhino back on it's wheels, or lifting the rhino from a tree to change a tire, it always works, period! I see lots of posts about problems with warn, but few, it any posts about problems with superwinch, just sayin'.

Oh yeah, and Limited Lifetime Warranty too!

4k viper. Think I paid 280 for the kit a couple years ago. They have went up a little but still a great winch for the money. I have broke a synthetic rope with it other then that np. To me that just means its got more ass then the ropes do. I've first hand seen a 3500 warn strip it's gears out and it really wasn't under that much of a load. I've heard the gears are plastic. Considering their price I just can't see paying what they ask for what you get. Not when there are so many to pick from and most are cheaper.

4500 Viper here.....You are right 8ball, I've seen Warns blow the plastic gear housing also. Keep a Warn out of water and you're fine. Submerge it and it's done....Maybe not right then, but let it sit for a week or two..............click click ................LOL.

I have had good luck with Warn's over the yrs.

Super winch terra 45, always used warn in the past with good results. This is my first super winch but it looks like I may be the only one with one, you guys know something I don't.
