| Thanks guys. Full story: Melissa woke me up about 4am and told she thought she was going into labor. She wasn't due till 4 Dec, so I asked her if it was serious enough to go to the hospital. She said yes, so we got Marlee out of bed, rushed around to get on the road. We had barely hit the interstate when she started moaning. I knew Lville was a solid 45 min drive, so I hauled ass (abt 85mph) over to FT Knox hospital. I called ahead to try for a police escort at the gate, but he wasn't there. They did just wave me on through the gate without stopping me though (thank GOD). We pulled up in front, I ran inside the hospital but could find no one. I ran back to the Jeep and she was saying "He's coming.....he's coming". I pulled her pants down and that little sucker was already out past his shoulders. I was scared to say the least because I was afraid he wasn't going to get oxygen. Melissa wrapped him up in a blanket and sat there rubbing him till he cried. The docs arrived 3-5 minutes later and cut the umbilical cord. What a freakin experience!!! My wife is a freakin trooper. She was so smart, she even had a towel and did not get a speck of blood in the seat. It is truly amazing that it worked out so perfectly. If we had tried for Louisville I fear that things would not have been so fortunate for us. God was definitely watching over us this morning, and I know Kyle Comfort was smiling down on us this morning as well. Little Marlee watched all this unfold from the back seat. WOW Kyle Christopher Lucas | |
