I have the Garmin Legend with the Mapsource TOPO Software. Works great. You download the TOPO maps of the area your going to ride into the GPS. You can even map out a route on the computer and download it into the GPS. Lots of the trails and service roads are in the TOPO software.

I have a Magellan Triton 400. The best place to pick one up is at WalMart. I use the National Geographic mapping software. I am very pleased with mine. A friend has used his GPS at Ocala and says that it is a must. He has a Legend but likes mine better.

Get the Garmin Rhino, I have the 130 and it rocks. I like the person to person locator. You can see your buddies location on your gps and it has a GMRS radio NOAA weather fish and hunt times stop watch and a lot more.

I have a garmin 60csx works great. It pick up 12 satellites and work good in wooded area if it drop down to 3 satellites signal and still tracks. Some will lose the signal in wooded area and stop tracking. Try to find one that pickup as many satellites as you can.
