Aetna Mountain Jan 28

Me and a few friends are goin to aetna mtn saturday to ride if anybody wants to ride too.We should be there at 10am chattanooga time.

Where exactly is it? Im interested!!!

Its just off that cummings rd going towards chattanooga this will be my first time going up there but my friend knows how to get in there.

If you take the tiftonia exit take the road in front of cracker barrel... Take the first road to the right I think and then a left over a bridge... That leads up to a nice sub division which turns into a red clay road... Thats where you park. If memory serves me right thats correct but maybe somebody who is positive will chime in and say for sure

I hope to ride there soon. I can't do it this weekend.

I know that Flanny is wanting me to go and I plan to as soon as I can.

I have been twice. Some excellent riding fo sure. Some advice I was given is be very aware of where the hunting areas are and where you park. I have plans to ride here local. If ya dont mind let us know when, if you go back.

When I was in High School it was an every weekend thing to go up and ride Aetna. There were about five entrances back then, all but one has been gated. One gated entrance is still available but is member's only and isn't cheap. Lots of good riding and everything from hardcore crawling to easy trail riding. Little something for everyone. I will be at work this weekend or I would join since it's just a few minutes from the house.

Hey Kane can you still enter by that nice neighborhood, I believe thats the Tiftonia exit, and park somewhere on the road? I have heard that that road is public and folks still park on it all up and down the mountain. True or not?

It's been five or more years since I've been up on Aetna. Last I heard the people of the subdivision gated it off, BUT the landowners on top of the Mtn took them to court. End result was gate came down so the landowners could access their property, evidence wealth doesn't constitute intelligence.

If for some reason you guys can't access it that way, there is always Prentice Cooper close by. Hunting season is over in TN so it should be clear to ride again.

How'd this ride go guys. Soon as I get a new belt on, I wanna go.

We didnt make it to aetna saturday everybody changed their mind and we ended up going to monteagle mt and riding but we should have went to aetna . if you like rock riding monteagles the place to go.

A friend and I will be going on the 12th....probably make it an over nighter. PM me if anyone else wants to go so we can exchange numbers.

Where on Monteagle. I live just a few miles down the road on South Pittsburg Mtn. All the trails here that I used to ride on have been turned into subdivisions and gated off.
