"FST made a great video showing why the Commander is hard on tie rods. The Toe changes through the range of travel motion. I wonder if Can-Am has seen this? The Tie rods don't flex. As the suspension travels up the tie rods pull the toe out a little. So the toe does change as the suspension moves through the stroke. In the vid watch the brake rotor. The front edge moves out as the back edge moves in while traveling upwards. Not a good design."

ok now lets see a polaris video.

They all move like that in that general direction. When you have A Arms, thats going to happen. All cars toe, caster, and camber changes with the height of wherever the tire is at in the range of motion. All of them are going to move alot at unhooked extreme points. In truth of normal reality the shock is moving all of that in normal operation. The range of motion is not that great when its bolted up and on the ground. scratch Also with the camera on the ground will change the look of the angle. Those are moving up and out just like them all. I have a polaris here and I can do a video tonight if I need to.

I think the tie rod problem is basically weak tie rods from the factory. They are not that strong.

Edited my post with quotes. Not my info, just passing it on. Here is what else the poster said.

"I know for a fact that my Teryx machines did not have this problem, I put aftermarket shocks on both and moved them through the range of motion, toe did not change."

FST has made the claim with the video. Thought it was some interesting information for discussion. Not really sure myself about the Claim.
