| it was a easy decision Coot, if they flood the farm land nobody bitches and the farmers just suck it up fix it them selfs and get back to work. But if it floods Coon town then the government will have to spend billions on new color TVs and Nike tennis shoes and new houses for them all so in the end its the only way the government can afford to do it. the folks that are getting flooded now probably wont even complain!! no fema no TV crews and wont feel the need to shoot any helicopters out of the air. God Bless them all down there! | |

| Of course they do this when im in Donaldsonville... right between baton rouge and N'olens. I gotta get me and my rig full of tv gear out of here before they might have to blow another one monday. Were all good now but if it rains again soon it might get hairy. The drag strip were filming at is in between the marsh and the river. | |

WOW are you way off on this one if you think no one bitches. The farmers just suck it up fix it them selfs. Ya right. Those farmers will get paid for all there lose by the government and will not have to plant a thing on that land until next year. They get the best of both worlds, get paid and don't have to put in the time or the money to get there crops in. Heck I know of two big chunks of land down by the river here that floods every year. I asked the farmer why he bothers to plant it every spring and he said it was pretty much free money. We plant it, it floods, government pays us and we wait till next year to do it all again. Anyone know of any other business that can go completely under water and the owner still makes money? | |
