Question for winch owners please???

Where do you guys get those rather hard, dense, rubber balls for the end of your winch cable? My Ramsey didn't come with one and I'm have a tough time finding anything that will take a beating from the thorn bushes so far. Thanks for any help.

I got mine at Walmart pet section. 6 dollar Kong dog toy.

Great idea !! I can say those are tuff as hell !! Our little chewers that can make mince meat out of concrete have not been able to hurt their Kongs!!

Nothing @ Wally World in the pet section was found by me.....but, Menards...in the nuts and bolt section....in the little sliding drawers....1 3/4" Freeze Plug.......$2.19 tax in Just unscrew the nut and remove lagre washers and carriage bolt.....slide cable or rope through hole of the rubber bushing... and there you have it

I'm using a pair of shock bushings, each of which was a "half-moon"...

Mine came with the KFI winch it is heavy designed to reduce recoil if the cable ever breaks. Price is 10 bucks.

Safety........so you dont have a hold of the wire that is being drawn into the winch. Alot of people have had a glove get caught and pulled into the fairlead causing injury. It's basically a buffer between you and the fairlead.

They also reduce recoil, reduce rattle, and keep people from bottoming the hook against the rollers which could cause premature failure.

oh well I got syn. rope so i just took it off casue when I first got this winch i had it on and winched it in till it was tight (with the ball on it) and it pulled a little bit of the rope out of the metal loop where you hook the winch to
