New 2010??????

I heard strong word at the Side by Side event this weekend, that there is NO new Rhino for 2010......we'll have to wait and see....of course, you know how rumors are

New releases are up on the US also. No Rhino. What gives. Are they not going to make a 2010 Rhino?????

We heard that the Rhino was going away due to all the liability and lawsuits, no Rhino for 2010, will be a totally new unit for 2011 or 2012, different name, totally different machine.......seems the 4 passenger Rhino was pulled for the same reason.....if no info is given by the end of the year, it's safe to say for sure no Rhino for 2010.

Damn, That sucks. You should replace a model not just eliminate one then try again in a few years. That one is going to hurt Yamaha. I guess the Polaris will be in my garage soon!!!!!!

Yeah, I would say your are right. The Rhino will probably be done.

Thay were probably just tired of beating a dead
horse. I mean the rhino was a great machine.
and Yamaha sold a lot of them. but thay been trying
to pacify people since the beginning .
Can you even imagine the cost of giving every one pre 08
them doors? or machining wheel spacers for thousands of
machines. thay decide its time for a change...

Here's the scoop. From a Pro Yamaha dealer.



No 2010 Rhino side-by-side info until February. Currently, 2009 Rhino 450 and 700 models will be delivered through January with February slated as the 2010 model year roll out. Quote from the 2010 ATV intro: "Rhino will continue to be a core focus for our side-by-side line-up when we introduce the 2010 models at a later date."

Yamaha did introduce the following new 2010 models:
-YFZ450X
-Stratoliner Deluxe
-V Star 1300 Tourer (refresh)
-R1 LE (Fiat edition)
-YZ450F
-YZ250F

Discountinued models:
-Bear Bear 250
-YFZ450
-V Star 1100
-FZ6S
-R6S

There will also be no 2010 TT-R dirtbikes, but they will return in 2011. Overall, Yamaha cut a lot of fat, meaning fewer colors and models. Now, though, we will have to wait at least another 6 months until 2010 SxS information in officially released.

something new , I would be pissed....

With Yamaha putting this off I am looking for a major change when it is released. Fingers crossed for a new 60" wide v-twin.

It could be yamaha is doing is what kawasaki tried to do when its 08 teryx's had so many issues that dealers were overloaded with old inventory. They tried to hold the delivery of the 09 models up for two months so the old units could be liquidated. Yamaha had to stop selling rhinos for a long time while they did the spacer thing and all that stored 09 inventory has to be sold and the remaing 09s assembled and delivered, now how long do you think it would take to sell off all those 09 units if buyers had a choice to buy a 10 instead. They just made it a no option for buyers wanting a rhino, a 09 or nothing till next spring.

Personally, I think waiting a few more months for the company who invented the whole recreational SxS market to bring out their new models might be worth it, for those who seem enamored by the "latest and greatest!"

But, what do I know -- I intentionally bought something just one step (though a major one, IMO) above a Kawasaki Mule...

Let's put it this way -- this delay seems to reinforce the point that the 2010 will be substantially differerent from what they sell today, and likely quite different from the prototypes we've seen pics of....

Either of those would likely be already in production -- something is still brewing in the skunkworks, IMO...
