The BlueRibbon Co-Op Membership Incentive Program (MIP)
The “Joint Membership Deal”

By Jack Welch, MIP Chair

We are seeking clubs to join us in the deal of a lifetime, benefiting both your club and the BlueRibbon Coalition. This “joint membership deal” is too good to turn down. Please read this program summary and let me know how we can include you. Thanks, Jack.

Summary of how it works:

This Co-Op marketing strategy provides BRC member organizations with an incentive to encourage their members to join both BRC and the member club/org at the same time at a nice discounted rate. BlueRibbon folds in the Associate Member Program, "piggyback" fashion providing a special one-time, one-year individual membership in BRC for their club/org members at the Associate Membership price of $15. Club members join/renew with their club at a cheaper rate as well – joint membership deal, while receiving a $25 gift card in the process. (Read more below).

Background/Introduction:

Recently, Greg Mumm, BlueRibbon Executive Director, met with Dan Thomas, owner of Rocky Mountain ATV-MC, a very solid supporter of BRC. Very frank discussions took place concerning the economy, OHV businesses, the recreation industry, how non-profits were faring, and opportunities surrounding the BlueRibbon Coalition and its member organizations.

Dan agreed that a unique incentive for enthusiasts to join BlueRibbon and its member organizations was needed. Dan graciously offered to help us by providing the incentive that was needed to inspire people to join. His offer (which is nothing short of a huge gift) is that for every member we sign up-renew-extend he would provide a $25 gift card from his company, Rocky Mountain ATV-MC (www.rockymountainatv.com) for a limited time. (This program with Rocky Mountain ATV ends November 1, 2009).

Here are the details of how the CO-OP program works:

The intent of this program is to develop individual memberships for BRC member organizations as well helping BlueRibbon to grow its own membership. It is truly a WIN - WIN for both groups!!

Through the Co-Op marketing strategy, the focus is on providing those member organizations with an incentive to encourage their members to join both BRC and the member club/org at the same time for a discounted rate. BlueRibbon folds in the Associate Member Program, "piggyback" fashion, thereby provide a special one-time, one-year individual membership in BRC for their club/org members at the Associate Membership price of $15. The club/org can match that $15 special membership (or some similar reduction of their choosing) in their organization. In this example, it costs a total of $30 to join-renew-extend memberships in both organizations. Then you subtract out the $25 gift card and it becomes a "no buts--no brainer" $5 final cost.

The member organization gets an immediate shot in the arm financially and both organizations grow memberships. BRC will tailor the "piggyback" however the member organization decides would work best for them.

I look forward to working with you to get this joint membership deal going for your club. For questions, please contact me here:
