FANTASTIC NEWS: COOSA RIVER STORAGE ANNEX!

Monday night, June 14th, the Talladega County Commission voted to accept the formation of the Public Park Authority of the Cities of Lincoln and Talladega Alabama. This means that these two cities will form a joint venture Public Park Authority on behalf of the Coosa River Storage Annex and the County will transfer the deed for the property to this Authority via the National Park Service. The NPS has already consented to accept this transaction when it happens. This is exactly what we wanted to see happen for the development of this property.

The next step is the formation of the Authority by Lincoln and Talladega. Resolutions will have to be passed by both cities forming the Authority and once the first resolution is adopted, they have no more than 40 days to complete the formation. We are pleased that Lincoln and Talladega will be working together to develop the Annex property according to the plan submitted by Lincoln and accepted by the NPS.

Stir up your volunteerism spirit and let's go to work helping to get this property cleaned, groomed and developed. Keep a watch on our website for further details.
