UH-OH Rearend is gone.

Went to windrock yesterday and rode 2,16,18,28,30,31,33,22,35,36,27, hit the gravel on the way to 26 and the rearend locked down. It had just barely cracked from the inside and all my fluid was leaking, had to break it free and pull it thru 26 to the gravels so we could make it to the truck. In the process of freeing it up the pinion gear came out the side! I listed the trails to show that we didnt do anything real hard and when it let go i was taking it pretty easy on the gravel road. Its is a little over three months old and has 600 miles on it. The only thing i noticed it doing before it let go was in low range it was making a wierd whining noise at times, other than the normal whine they make. Just looking for an idea of what caused it to go.

Yes, 3 months left. I do believe ill be adding the extended warranty now.

Well my buddy had followed me all day and said he never seen anything hit that area. When i was going down the gravel road all was fine until it made some horrible sounds and locked up the back tires, then we noticed the fluid leaking and small crack. Im thinking something broke inside and caused the crack, after having to drive it back to the truck it went from a small crack to a big hole with the pinion sticking out.

that sucks. hope they get you back on the trail fast.

WARRENTY IT NOW! Mine is in the shop getting its 2nd set of bushings. Also shock bushings, wheel bearings and whatever else Troy can replace (under warrenty).

Dropping it off in the morning and gonna see what kinda deal they will cut me on ext. Warranty.
