| Joe hit it on the head. I moved down from OH and am extremely disappointed with the riding areas in NC. Uwharrie is good if you like rock crawling. We used to call it the rim killer. It’s sloooow hard core rock crawling. No grooming, no real trails, it fukking sucks. (IMO) Busco is definitely for mudders. Carolina Adventure World is boring. We have a family season pass for one reason and one reason only... it’s an hour from Charlotte and when you need a fix, it supplies one. The riding there is usually dusty, the trails are mediocre in the grooming dept. and lots of the trails are mismarked. But other than that, it’s okay...lol. Brushy mountain used to be good. I haven’t been there for years because you can’t take your kids there unless you give them blood, seaman and a hair sample. (if you’re divorced, you better have plenty of documentation as to ownership of your children. The best riding I’ve done is in TN, KY and WV without a doubt. The best people I have ever ridden with is this group of people. Last year we bought an enclosed trailer with bath, shower, etc JUST so we could hang out with everyone when we do go riding. Joining the “orange” membership is not some money making push, it what separates the people who genuinely want to participate in a group from those that don’t. I promise you will not meet a better bunch of people. It’s not uncommon have 40+ UTV’s show up at one of our rides. Join us one time and you’ll understand. Welcome to NC, I’m in Charlotte, if you need more info, don’t hesitate to PM me. Mark - RZR_Joe wrote:
- Welcome to NC! Raleigh, NC here. There are several places to ride in NC. However, the best place IMO is Brimstone, TN - about 7 hours.
NC area riding:
Uhwarrie National Park OHV Trails range from easy to holy crap! It's small but a nice day or weekend ride.
Busco Beach Not much for trials but if you like mud this is your place!
Carolina Adventure World Very nice place to ride with the family. Easy to moderate trails, clearly marked one-way trail system.
Cape Fear ATV Park So so, kinda small and very muddy.
Brushy Mountain Motorsports Park
