Future ATV Park and SxS Club Sponcered Events (Scavenger Hunt)

Everyone this thread spun off of Gunrunners thread about business cards. Who would like to see this club grow into some sponcered events at atv parks.

My current goal is to talk to the Owner (employees) at Wilborns this weekend about a SxS scavenger hunt during spring/ summer 2008 or 2009. They already host a mudbog an hill climb which 2 other clubs are involved in. The scavenger hunt will be bascially racing in a since. You will have to navigate the easy an difficult trails over the entire property. We will have to work out of the details on the point to it at a later date. Such as you may be racing to find a particular person or a certain color flag along the trail. We may say along X part of the trail you will see a red cooler with a question inside. Answer this side x side question right to advance to the CORRECT point.

You may have to find a stock Yamaha Rhino wheel\tire along side of trail an return it before the competition. There will be an entry fee and a payout to the winner just like a mudbog or hill climb.

There is many ways a SxS event could be put together an be original. This event will have ALOT of Details to be worked out. Lets here some comments and get the ULTIMATE Southeast SxS Rally planned.

Man I would like to do a Hatfield and McCoys trail in WV. Or Durmtown

That will be just a big road trip trail ride, either of those. This event will be an actual Southeastern SxS rally with a Scavenger Hunt. I am going to try and get Wilborns Outdoors to join in and help us promote it. I want a good 3-4 days worth of SxS events. It will take some dedication and alot of work on the clubs part to get this going. The club needs to do something though to gain credability.


Durhamtown is a good ride but would be better on a Dirt Bike or Sport Quad. I have ridden it once. I hope to make a trip to West Viringia to ride the Hatfield- McCoy trails in the near future such as summer 2008.

That would be fun but don't expect too much as this thing is just getting off the ground. Our jeep club has a annual event that started off as just a few people getting together for a weekend camping trip (5 years ago). Last year we had over 150 Jeeps. Hatfield's would be fun because of the amount of trails there. Looks like West V is cashing in on the ATV tourism Industry. They look like they really got their stuff together. Im sure If you talked to them they would help put something together with some advertising. Maybe get some Factory support from Yamaha Kawasaki ect. Let just try to get numbers this year and maybe next year we can get more people involved ie Factory and after market vendors and door prizes and giveaways.

Just a thought, you might want to check with these guys....www.broadriveratv.com It's an up and comming park that would probably welcome an event. It has some killer terrian.

The Southern SideXSide Riders Annual Jamboree! Make it an event tied to a Charity. Toys 4 Tots etc....

Not to throw out the wet blanket, but there are alot of pitfalls to putting your name on an event. It is very costly to insure against personal injury and stupid to proceed without it. Why not just keep it simple and maybe Just advertise the Southern SXS get together just at the same time and place as a scheduled event rather than host it. Just my 2 cents
