the garmin NUVI 500 is a good one and its warterproof. i use the garmin 620

I use a Delorme PN-20 but it is getting old. Great Topo on it but small screen. Was thinking to use the Garmin from the car and buy Dan's maps for it and enclose it in a sandwich bag to extend the life a bit.
