PostSubject: STI Roctanes   STI Roctanes EmptySat May 04, 2013 12:39 pm

I just bought a set of Roctane 28x10x14's. I really wanted 27x12 but all they made were 27x14's so I went with the 28's for the extra side wall. The funny thing is they are actually bigger then I wanted. The biggest tire I wanted to run was 28". However, these things are almost 29" with 11lbs of air. Also, they are a true 10" wide.

So far I give them a thumbs up. Now I just have to get them out on the trails.

I just got the same tires and wheels for my 900. I put them on yesterday and they pulled great on the hills at the house I had to use 4wd on before. With 6# of air in them they measure out at 27½" after I put them on the rzr.

No tire is pinch proof. However, I am confident that these 28" are less likely to pinch then most other tires I have seen. I have more side wall then my 26x12 big horns. Just saying.

Not sure on those but my STI's are 6ply in the front and 8ply in the back. I think they make a great tire. You will be pleased 2cents Chug

Really pinching, to me anyways, is caused by poor air-pressure selection, be it a 14 or a 12. All tires are different too. The ply-rating differs between the tire-makers. They set thier own ply ratings. All 8-plys are not the same. 8 pieces of notebook paper are 8 plys right??? Vs. 8 pieces of asphalt-shingles- 8 ply again....Which is stronger???

DOT tire makers have to stick by much stronger rules than the tires we use.

going to a 14" you only have problems when ya stay with a 26" tire.

going up 2 inches in wheel and 2 inches in tire gives you the same sidewall ratio.

you will love the 14"wheels, and the bigger tires. you will never go back to the little baby 26" tires.

ive been running 28x10x14"mongrels on my xp for about 450 miles now and they lived through rush off road park. you wont have any issues!!

Face it, every time you try a new tire and/or size it's a crap shoot as to wether they will hold up to the abuse they are subjected to on the trails. Only by trying them out are we convinced of their abilities and durability. Good luck with the new tires big-R they look great.

You are right Jim. The best way to find out is try it yourself.
