| Hey guys, in need of some help. I posted over on rhinoforums.net, but the responses over there are few and far between. I then remembered this place where someone always tried to help....wish I would have started here. Anyways, here is a link that puts you up to date. http://www.rhinoforums.net/engine/67986-08-700-wont-start-got-couple-codes.htmlWhat do you think? I'm leaning toward the CPS. I'm going to test it tomorrow evening when I get home. Suppose to ride on Thursday and my buddies and I are taking our kids and I'm very very excited to take my 7 year old. So, I'm hoping I can figure something out. | |

| Long-Time no see.......I'm not convinced the CPS would go bad just because you ran out of fuel???.....Makes no sense. Rhinoforums has been a total joke for the last few years......But at least they booted that hillbilly Hotrod.....LOL | |

| I'm not 100% convinced either since a bad CPS will not let the machine start. I just don't know what else to try. | |

| Got back in town today and hoped the magic fix it fairy had showed up. Started right up and ran for about 20 seconds and then died and wouldn't start back up. Anyone else have any thoughts? Don't treat me like the rhino forums! lol | |

| I have an 08 700 that had similar issues last winter , turns out it was the battery. Replace the original battery no problems since . | |

| My Grizz 700 (same motor as yours) died a couple of weeks ago, had to be towed out by a Honda, terrible experience...good people though. The Grizz would run a little then die, pulled the gas line, pump good, spark plug fire so so, finally discovered code 12 and blinking engine light when cranking, pulled the connector ...going to get tough because I may get the terms wrong,....on the crank case position sensor, ...remembered that from somewhere in the recess of my brain..cleaned it fired right up, felt like a real man, makes two cabinets of tools all worth it.... go to bed....getting late...wanted to let everything dry out because we had been riding a swamp and a pond...Next evening after a 12 hour work day and two hour commute, plug it all togethor....no start...sh!ts out a code 12.....I say..a few bad words..I have a good mechanic at the yama shop, and they can be dealing with it....take it there.
Wallie, good guy, likes to play in water too, discovers the wire that comes out behind or below the oil dip stick (the crank case position sensor that also goes to your stator, was shorting. Now the exact location of the short...there is alittle circle deal that the wire goes through on the backside of the motor, or on around the corner from the oil dipstick, was rubbing right there....If I was doing a rewind I would move that wire around and see if she runs, if so, then start looking for the short...or a rubbed out wire area.
The first connector that I cleaned and thought I was good was behind the CV exhaust or intake on the Grizz, and don't know on the RHINO. 80 bucks at my good friends at the Yami shop. Runs good.
Edit: Like the others said while I was away typing, Low battery voltage is also a strong possibilty, check yours with a meter or charge it frist. My mechanic said that too.

| I watched the video and it really seems to be fuel. If not the fuel pump maybe the ECU has taken a dump on you. However, I am not sure and I am by no means a mechanic. Good luck and I hope the dealer can figure it out. | |

| Well, got the turd running. It ended up being my fuel programmer and CDI box. Two pieces I failed to mention in all of this I think they both took a hit cause neither of them work. Unplugged them and it works like a champ. Will have to order new ones. I guess it makes sense why I got those codes now. They are both controlled by those boxes. | |

| My rhino has a problem it won't go past 25 to 30 mph it has a bad miss in it. I've changed fuel pump, stator, charging box I don't know what it could be. It don't do it as bad at low speed but u can still tell it's not running right | |

Dirty sheeve and it's prematurely hitting the limiter.
